This quirky and charming site provides a very unique location for a wedding ceremony and reception, and a great backdrop for your wedding photographs.
The Museum has 35 reconstructed buildings, seven of which are now licenced for civil ceremonies including an Iron Age roundhouse (believed to be the only one licenced for civil ceremonies in the country), tin chapel, Victorian toll house and Medieval barns.
The Museum is available on a dry hire basis only. There are no restrictions on suppliers and no corkage fees allowing you to plan a wedding suited to your own style. There are three barn wedding venues available: Northolt barn, Skippings barn, and Arborfield barn all of which are licenced for civil ceremonies. The Victorian toll house, Iron Age roundhouse, Henton tin chapel, and Thame Vicarage are also licenced for civil ceremonies. Each building can be hired separately, or as part of a combined package to increase capacity and spread your wedding across the beautiful site. If you are hiring Skippings Barn you can also hire your own marquee to go in the field next to it at no additional charge.
The Museum has a list suppliers who are familiar with the site or wedding couples are welcome to bring in their own suppliers if they would prefer, all the Museum asks is that they provide them with copies of their insurance and health and safety documents.
