Burley Manor

If you’re considering booking your wedding or special occasion here, DON’T! We held our belated wedding reception at Burley Manor in November 2023. A long-awaited celebration after our small ceremony during Covid (which was held at a different venue). Credit where credit’s due - the location and venue are beautiful, the food was great, and the event planning team were really helpful and enthusiastic about our vision. Upsettingly, our wedding reception didn’t turn out how we had planned for all those months and spent a lot of money on. The on-the-day event management was so rude to us and our guests. They had a “can’t do” attitude which put a huge downer on our day. Everything was a problem for them, with snarky comments being made about everything we did. Forget guest experience, their only concern was clearing the room after the meal for the band set up. The planning team had advised 1.5 hours for this, which we had given in our schedule and all timings had been agreed prior to our wedding reception. But on the day, the event team wanted to cut the time of our drinks reception by half, and rush through dinner to give them more time. I had to repeatedly ask them not to. Service during our meal was terrible. Everyone had an empty glass. Some drinks that we had pre-paid for weren’t even served. When we raised this afterwards, the hotel denied everything and basically called us and our guests liars. Apparently everyone chose to just have table water! After waiting so long to celebrate our marriage, we are so upset that this is the experience we received - both during our wedding reception and afterwards. The event planning team are centralised so everything is great until you are handed over to the hotel. Sold the dream and delivered something completely different.

My wife and I got married in November 2018, with the wedding reception at Burley Manor. We were extremely blessed with great weather, and were only the second couple ever to use the 'Deer Park Barn' extension. Our guests commented on the excellence of Burley Manor's location and aesthetic. It looked extremely picturesque on the day, and the food served throughout the day was of the highest quality. The staff at Burley Manor, in particular - Fred, put a lot of effort in to ensuring every detail was covered. The staff were the shining highlight of the Burley Manor experience. Extremely supportive, professional and very happy for us on the day. The service was smooth, easy, and removed any worries we had on the day itself. We would highly recommend Burley Manor for a couple's wedding venue - you'll be sure to have a great time.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our wedding. The staff there were so generous and patient. The barn, hotel and surroundings are stunning. One main highlight for us was the food, the amazing chef created a gorgeous bespoke menu for us and all of our guests were wowed by it all.

From our first visit to organise the "do" to checking out as a married couple we were treated so well and were completely happy with the whole experience. Gina Sanchez (Wedding and Events manager) helped us A LOT! She dealt with us in the most professional yet friendly manner, even taking wedding gifts to our room throughout the evening for us to enjoy later on. As we were having a very informal party we went for a hog roast with lots of lovely sides and equally fabulous dessert buffet. Lots of people made a point to compliment us on the food. The manor is stunning with such a nice friendly feel to it and the barn is just lovely, plenty of room inside with the bonus of having its own bar with plenty of room outside in the courtyard for the children to run around (and the odd adult) I should add that even the addition of our dog to the wedding party didn't phase anyone. He attended the whole day/evening and was made to feel very welcome in our room with his own bowls and big biscuit so he didn't feel left out. Its not often one attends an event where there isn't the odd niggle but I can honestly say there simply wasn't one. The venue, staff, food (and even the weather) was perfect.

Words cannot express how amazing our wedding day was and that was all thankful to you and your wonderful team at the Burley Manor. All our guests have commented on the beauty of the venue, the friendly staff and fantastic food! The day was perfect and both Scott and I can't stop thinking about all the memories. Gina, you are an absolute asset to that hotel - You are professional, calm, organised and a pleasure to deal with. We couldn't have done any of the wedding without you and we truly mean that.

We had our wedding at Burley Manor in June. Everything was perfect - The staff are all so lovely and accommodating. The food is out of this world and the setting is stunning. The barn is a lovely venue, we would 100% recommend!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for a great day. The food was absolutely delicious and lots of people commented on it. Thank you for all your hard work from dawn until dusk, it didnt go unnoticed.
