A beautiful and magical day
Thank you so much for making our wedding day so wonderful and unique. It really was a beautiful and magical day. It would not have been possible without all the care and attention that you all gave.

We would highly recommend Brockholes
Brockholes is a beautiful nature reserve and the reception rooms are right on the waters edge. There are amazing photo points and they are willing to work around what you want for your day. They recommend local hotels for people to stay in and block out a section of parking for your guests. Caroline showed us around and she was so lovely and helpful. She explained everything and was great with answering questions. We would highly recommend Brockholes as a wedding venue.

The Reweddening
We started planning this back in October 2020 when the world was crazy! Caroline and the team were phenomenal then, and they continued to be so the whole time. Nothing was too much effort, any tiny question or niggle I had was answered quickly and easily - which for someone with an anxiety disorder made so much difference. The day itself was incredible. The venue is breathtaking. Every single guest we spoke to was blown away by it. As were we. On it's own it is beautiful, but decorated it is truly magical. The food was beautiful, and the handful of dietary tweaks we needed to make were accommodated quickly and easily with staff going out of their way to make sure I knew what I could and couldn't eat. It was beautiful, it was perfect, and we cannot thank everyone enough or sing their praises enough.

We couldn't have gotten married anywhere else
We got married and had our reception at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston in October 2022. The venue was absolutely perfect and the team at Brockholes were wonderful. From the first email to enquire about availability all the way through to the day after the wedding, the team at Brockholes were warm and caring. They made us feel relaxed and reassured throughout the planning process and the day went perfectly. The site that Brockholes sits on is easily accessed from main roads, but you feel like you're in the heart of nature. The scenery is beautiful and the money paid for using the venue goes right back into the running/maintenance of the reserve, which we really liked. All our guests have come back to us to say how beautiful the day was and how delicious the food was, including guests with quite bespoke dietary requirements. We would really recommend Brockholes to anyone thinking about getting married.

The most wonderful day at the most wonderful, natural venue
We just wanted to say thanks so much to you and to the rest of the team at Brockholes, who made our day so wonderful! Everyone was there with us along the process and there was so much attention to detail with all the table decorations, beautiful multiple room layout, the addition of the edible flowers on the cake. Also the beautiful, natural wooden centrepieces from Brockholes itself and the beautiful wildflower arrangements from Brockholes too, which went perfectly with our own flowers and colour scheme. The floating venue itself was absolutely incredible and natural and was the best venue we could have hoped for. It was so unique and all of our guests had such an amazing time too. We can't thank you all enough! Finally, we want to thank you, Caroline, for being so supportive! We couldn't have wished for a more encouraging, friendly person to chat to in the planning process. You kept our mind at ease even at the stressful times! Lots of Love

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

Describe the best wedding that happened at Brockholes Nature Reserve?

They're all my favourite! But I love a summer wedding with a barbecue and an outdoor drinks reception - everyone is relaxed and happy, drinking gin and tonics by the lake as the sun sets.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Prioritise what you book: choose what really matters to you and get that sorted nice and early. You'll feel so much more prepared knowing you've got your venue or photography sorted, or that you've made sure you've secured your perfect date.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Once, the Father of the Bride sang 'You are my Sunshine' during a ceremony... There was not a dry eye in the room!

Describe Brockholes Nature Reserve in 5 adjectives

Beautiful, unique, relaxed, wild, welcoming

Where’s the best photo spot at Brockholes Nature Reserve?

Brockholes is full of gorgeous photo spots but some of my favourites are the boardwalk approaching the Village, surrounded by the lake, our secluded sunken seating, and the boardwalk into the reedbed.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Brockholes Nature Reserve?

Prince Harry joined us for a day and enjoyed his lunch in our den. Closer to home, Alison Hammond made bird-feeders at Brockholes during her tour of the UK!

What’s your favourite canapé?

They're all delicious but the mini roast beef and yorkshire pudding is amazing. The goats cheese and red onion crostini is also a winner.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

After a night of dancing, our guests love tucking into a bacon or veggie sausage butty.

What is Brockholes Nature Reserve most unique feature?

We're a floating wedding venue - your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception all take place in our floating village.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Every wedding at Brockholes helps fund our vital conservation work across our region.
