- The exclusive hire includes our three magnificent public rooms: The Garrison, The State Room and The Great Hall which can be used for ceremonies receptions, dining, and dancing. - Our maximum number of guests in our public rooms is 80. The Castle also has 13 elegant and romantic bedrooms sleeping up to 20 guests and, next to the castle, Crookston Cottage which can sleep a further 4 guests and the newly refurbished Gatehouse can sleep 2 guests. - Housekeeping, tea selection and freshly brewed coffee are also included for guests staying the night at the castle, and in the morning, you will be treated to a delicious cooked to order full Scottish breakfast. - A team of staff are also on site 24 hours a day. - All non consumables included in Hire Price.

We are so happy to have got married at Borthwick Castle! Such a stunning venue that description in text does not do any justice to. On top of this, the Borthwick team excelled with their kindness, wonderful service, and care over every single guest… We are a couple from Scotland and Ecuador who are lucky enough to have had guests from almost every continent, and despite the differences in culture, we have heard from each individual guest how much they loved the staff and the venue; this shows how great the day was. The service throughout the day was spotless: the team didn't just help with the canapes, food & drinks, but accommodated everything for a piper, champagne sabering, hog roast, lawn games… The staff were great from our very first visit day. The chef facilitated an entirely gluten free menu + food requirements from guests. The quality of the food was magnificent and the team was able to capture our vision from food to decorations, and order of the day from international zoom calls and videos for which time difference and everything was flexible… it felt like it was an entire year of us being celebrated, not just a single day. We cannot believe this amazing time, and the great people at Borthwick came to an end for us (time flew fast!), and we want to highlight our lovely wedding coordinator Aine - what a superstar you are, we cannot thank you enough for making this past year go so smoothly! We have immense gratitude towards you and we hope to see you again, you were a key person in making our wedding celebration an unforgetable event =) We already have on our list, next time in Scotland, book a visit and likely a food tasting event at Borthwick (why not making a cheeky excuse to visit all of you again).We are so happy to have got married at Borthwick Castle! From the moment we began planning our wedding, Aine was a shining star. Her support in the lead-up to our big day was invaluable. Thanks to Aine, the wedding planning process was incredibly easy and stress-free, allowing us to fully enjoy the excitement leading up to our special day. During the wedding weekend, the entire Borthwick team were total legends! Aine and Damien, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. Our wedding at Borthwick Castle on the 14th of December 2024 was truly the most magical day we could have ever imagined. From the first contact via email to our departure the day after, the staff were absolutely phenomenal. Over the two years of planning, I never once felt stressed about the venue-everything was handled with such professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail. We chose a winter wedding because of our love for Christmas, and the castle's festive decorations exceeded all expectations. The enormous Christmas tree in the Great Hall and the beautiful touches throughout the castle created the perfect holiday atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale. On the day itself, the team went above and beyond. The dining service was exquisite-true silver service. Sitting at the top table during dinner, we could see the precision and professionalism of the staff, with every plate being served simultaneously. It was seamless and added such a refined touch to the evening. The castle itself is breathtaking. Every room is beautifully designed and full of character. Our favorite was the Gatehouse, where I got ready with my bridal party and where we stayed the night of our wedding. It's incredibly spacious and perfect for gathering with friends and family in the morning. I highly recommend investing in the early check-in option; having access from 8 a.m. made the day so much more relaxed. Getting ready with my loved ones, enjoying hair and makeup with a glass of fizz, is a memory I'll cherish forever. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the venue and the staff. Everyone was blown away by the beauty of the castle, the warmth of the team, and the incredible food. The menu tasting beforehand was such a special experience, and the chef even allowed us to offer our guests different menu options, which was a lovely personal touch. Special thanks to Áine, who was so friendly and attentive throughout the day and through the whole planning process-you were amazing! The entire team worked tirelessly to make our day perfect, and they succeeded in every way possible. I only wish I could relive the day exactly as it was-it was perfection from start to finish. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Borthwick Castle who helped make our dream wedding a reality. We will forever cherish the memories of this magical day. I CANNOT recommend Borthwick enough! As a destination bride who did not see the venue beforehand it was AMAZING- even better than how I pictured it after pouring over pictures leading up to the day. Aine was so responsive and helpful, there was no question I could ask however small that Aine didn’t answer with care and attentiveness. I had multiple people tell me it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and everyone was amazed by the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The entire staff was so helpful and constantly there for me and my now husband for anything we needed. The bedrooms were all amazing and the day was so magical- Borthwick couldn’t have made it any more perfect. Thank you so much to Aine and the Borthwick team!! I CANNOT recommend Borthwick enough! I have nothing but positive feedback for Borthwick Castle. We wanted to have a destination wedding in Scotland (we're based in the US) and lucked out with choosing Borthwick as a venue and with Aine as our wedding planner. It was incredibly easy to work with them over emails/zooms and Aine did a lot of the leg work to coordinate with our vendors since we weren't local. And the execution of the wedding was flawless; there is nothing we can think of that we would have improved over our experience. The castle and it's staff is a five-star experience with high levels of service, professionalism, and outright kindness. Not to mention to raw beauty of the castle. I remember seeing Borthwick Castle online when I was looking for wedding venues in the UK. It directly caught my attention, and I kept coming back to it as nothing compared... When we saw Borthwick in real life, we fell in love. It was everything we wished for... history, mystery, elegance, comfort... to say the least. Our destination wedding was nothing short of celebrating everything... not only our wedding, but also our family and friends who crossed oceans and miles to see us get married. They were all grateful to be part of the experience and could not stop talking about it!! (They haven't yet). The Staff at Borthwick are a dream, each and every single one of them. Aine, thank you for all the help, organization, and accommodations, on the day and before. It couldn't have been a more magical wedding. We don't intend to get married again, but we do intend to go back to Borthwick Castle and spend a day or two when the venue hosts annual events. Our whole weekend from start to finish was amazing. We had wanted to get married in a castle that was an actual castle inside as well as outside. The furnishings and standard of interior decoration was authentic to the castle but also extremely luxurious with all the mod cons. The staff, especially Amy and Damien were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and everything ran smoothly. I was very calm on the day - enjoying the experience of getting married - in the knowledge that I didn’t have anything to worry about as it was in very capable hands. And it was - everything ran smoothly and just how we wanted it. The food was phenomenal and they created a dish to suit our needs for the Friday before the wedding. I could not recommend them enough, our wedding really was a once in a lifetime experience. A big thank you to all Borthwick Staff. Our whole weekend from start to finish was amazing.
