Crackling fires in The Great Chamber recall a royal past, a unique and memorable atmosphere for any reception or civil service. Your wedding rings can be delivered by our ring bearer Barn Owl called Charlie.

An absolute dream of a wedding venue!
My husband and I were married here yesterday. Everything about getting married at Bolton Castle, from the first viewing right through to the end of the day, was everything we could have dreamed of from our venue! The castle itself has an impeccable character, charm, and history that we (and our guests) were just dazzled by, and they were so ready to work with the personalized ideas that we had for our day. Their flexibility, professionalism, and responsiveness helped to make the planning experience not stressful, but joyful. The day-of coordinators ensured that everything ran smoothly, which meant that myself and my husband could focus on each other and our guests, rather than feeling like we needed to run the show ourselves! We also must acknowledge the owl ringbearer and archery game provided for our day - these were truly special, fun moments that were greatly enjoyed by our guests and ourselves. On the day nothing was too much trouble and the staff helped the day run to plan, keeping me nice and calm. 100% would recommend as a wedding venue!

effortless and magical
I haven’t taken the chance to thank you all for making our ceremony so so special. The day went by like a flash but it all felt so effortless and magical, I could not have asked for a better day. The team assisting were amazing and I can’t thank them enough.

Our Magical Yorkshire Dales Wedding
Our wedding day at Bolton Castle was better than we could have ever dreamed of! The venue is stunning and so different to any other venue that we’d looked at. We met Jacqui and booked our wedding 2 years before the big day and for all that time she continuously messaged us and kept us in the loop. I found the Bolton team to be so helpful, nothing was a problem at all. They really helped to me our day run so smoothly so that we could just take it all in and enjoy it. The venue itself is stunning and so picturesque, we had so many comments from our guests saying that it was the best venue that they had been to and how beautiful it was. Even on a very windy and rainy Yorkshire day it was still magic! I honestly can’t thank the staff enough for all of their help, particularly Jacqui who helped so much with the multiple questions that I constantly emailed about over the 2 year period. She was so helpful when we met a few months before the big day and made me feel so assured that our wedding was going to be exactly as I’d hoped for. 5 stars isn’t enough!!!

Describe the best wedding that happened at Bolton Castle?
An English/French wedding. It started at 10am and it was unique and elegant from start to finish. The guess arrived through the portcullis and had tea and croissants on arrival. There were touches of both nationalities throughout and the Castle was beautifully decorated with garlands of foliage. The wedding breakfast was a gourmet and had five courses, again complimenting both the English and French elements. The day was relaxed and very special and was shortlisted for a competition.

Take time and enjoy your planning and if it becomes too stressful, give yourself time to leave it and come back to it at a later time.
