lucytakesphotos Full Description
I am a portrait photographer based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire who loves music, being outside and all things glittery. My style is natural & unposed and there’s nothing more I love than using my camera to change the way someone feels about themselves with just a photo. What I love most about weddings is the atmosphere and excitement of it all, I love photographing all the details, the thought that you put into them and family moments that you might only see when you look at your images after the big day. My shooting style is quite calm and behind the scenes, I prefer to document your day as it happens, but I am always happy to help guide you through some easy poses and allocate time to shoot your family group photos.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your most memorable wedding?

One of my first weddings was in Galway, Ireland, we walked the streets taking portraits and the wedding party were so welcoming I felt like part of the family by the end of the weekend.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, unstaged, calming, pretty, quirky.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Do things the way you want them, if you want the pink shoes-buy the pink shoes!! try to ignore unwanted input and focus on the big picture, it's your day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

My favourite so far has been a wedding cake of the couples dog. It was very lifelike and nearly the same size!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

1?! This is hard.. well obviously you should get a good portrait of you both dressed in your gladrags, but I would also say get at least one family/friends photo even if you don't want to spend a long time doing all the different combinations.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A photo outside a teashop that inspired the theme of the wedding.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Funky umbrellas and wellies are very useful for the unpredictable weather the UK seems to get , or if you have visited your venue ask them if they have a nice room, I've used old libraries in stately homes as a back up, or a space that can be walked to with umbrellas like a tree covered area in a garden or an outdoor folly.
