Kings Grant Country Retreat Full Description
Tastefully decorated B & B accommodation plus two fully-equipped self-catering suites, weddings, conferences, museum plus a licensed restaurant where one can enjoy delicious country cuisine. Experience the charm and ambience of King’s Grant, the historically enriched country retreat that has been authentically restored into a unique, tasteful and well-facilitated establishment. For over one hundred years King’s Grant was run by the resident Mariannhill Monks as the St Isidor Mission and Millworks. Originally built by German Trappist Monks in 1891, the ancient red brick buildings have been restored and converted into an enchanting country guesthouse with Bed & Breakfast as well as self-catering accommodation. We at King’s Grant understand the tranquillity necessary for creative thought. Our Conference Centre is housed in the historic St. Isidor Mill and includes one breakaway room plus a stylish lounge where delegates meet for teas. Surrounded by peaceful flower filled gardens and situated on a large farming estate in the Ixopo district, King’s Grant offers the perfect venue for a productive conference or any other special function you may wish to hold. St Isidore’s restaurant is a fully licensed restaurant. It caters for all your company functions, weddings, family reunions, birthdays and conferences. It’s more than just a regular restaurant experience. It’s a restaurant surrounded by old warm charm, history, grapevines and cobbled walkways. It’s a place to explore as well as to eat at!

Hidden gem, big wedding would be spectacular !
A hidden gem steeped in history. I can only imagine a big wedding at this venue would be spectacular. The food was excellent and so much more than expected. A gourmet flair and so tasty. The staff were excellent, friendly and accommodating. Lovely room. No signal except on the establishments own wifi, but it is good to drop off the grid.

Beautiful little gem, fantastic venue for weddings
Beautiful little gem a few kilometers from Ixopo. Fantastic venue for weddings, reunions or just to get away from the rat race. We had a wonderful lunch on the terrace. Will definitely go back.
