I'm Josh, an unobtrusive wedding videographer in the Lake District. Creating calm, romantic and beautiful films. My style is relaxed and natural with less posing and no pressure. I blend in, keep the energy calm, and capture the real moments as they happen, then craft a reflective, romantic story you'll love to watch again and again.
I've been making films for over 10 years, professionally for 7, and capturing weddings for 5. I've put out fires (literally), calmed nervous grooms, and recorded more kissing than I can count.
All that experience means I bring a relaxed, focused energy and capture your day as it really happened. When I'm not filming, you'll find me hiking, pretending to enjoy running, and hanging out with my wife and our cat.
I'd argue most people are not that comfortable in front of a big group or a camera, and don't know what they want from a wedding film. I believe my approach helps people feel comfortable, to be themselves and to spend time with their person. From there, I can capture the moment from a distance, with encouragement and direction, only if needed, to help you relax and enjoy yourselves.

I keep my pricing straightforward. I take on a limited number of weddings each year and put real time into the edit, sound, and storytelling. You're paying for a calm presence on the day and a finished film that feels true to you, your people, and the place you chose. Clear packages, clear deliverables, no hidden extras.

How do we choose between Intimate and Full Day?
If you're having a smaller day or an elopement and want the key moments beautifully captured, Intimate is ideal. Full Day suits most weddings and captures the complete story from morning to evening.
Do you pose us or stage moments?
No constant posing and no turning your day into a shoot. I'll give you space to enjoy it. For couples shots, I'm happy to guide you into good light and a beautiful spot, then let the moments happen naturally.
We're not very comfortable on camera. Will this feel awkward?
Not at all. Most couples aren't used to being filmed. My approach is calm and low-pressure. I blend in and capture what's real, with minimal direction. If you ever want a little help, I'll offer a simple prompt, then step back and let you be together.
What's included in every package?
Every package includes unobtrusive coverage and a carefully edited wedding film, plus full ceremony and speeches (captured as they happen within your booked hours). I film with multiple cameras, use professional microphones for clear audio, and include drone footage where conditions allow. You're also covered by public liability insurance, and everything is delivered digitally with licensed music.
How do we book, and can you hold our date?
To book, get in touch and tell me a bit about your wedding. If it feels like a good fit, we can have a quick call to chat through your plans. Your date is secured once the deposit is paid and the contract is signed. I take on a limited number of weddings each year and I can't hold dates without a booking, so if you're keen, it's best not to leave it too long.
When will we receive our film?
My usual delivery time is 6–8 weeks. I put real time into the edit because pacing, sound, and atmosphere matter. I'll keep you updated, and you'll receive your films via digital delivery once everything is finished.
Do you travel, and is travel included?
Yes. I'm based near Carlisle and travel up to 100 miles from Carlisle is included. For weddings further afield, there may be additional costs for travel and accommodation. This is to keep things stress-free, avoid traffic risk, and make sure I'm fresh and fully present on the day.
Do you work with photographers on the day?
Yes, and I'm very used to it. I work quietly alongside photographers so you're not being pulled in two directions. It works best when your photographer shares a similar vision and approach. If you choose a very different style (for example, lots of flash, heavy posing, or editorial set-ups), it can impact the video. In some cases I may ask for a little dedicated time with you without flash so I can capture clean, natural footage.
