What is your most memorable wedding?
The first international wedding in sunny Albufeira, Portugal. The venue was right by the beach (my fav place ever) and I could see the couple (Kirk and Fiona) were so absolutely in love with each other. Lush.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Documentary, Candid, Cinematic, Natural, Beautiful
What about your business are you most proud of?
Being able to offer an affordable option to couples wanting to have a professional wedding film done. I'm one of the hardest working and best value videographers in the country and aim to capture everything!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Prepare, Prepare, Prepare! Oh and also expect the unexpected on the day as something unplanned normally does happen.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personalised vows with things only the bride and groom would know about each other that are shared during the ceremony. They always makes me smile.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
All communications / bookings are normally through my Facebook page, email or my website. Happy for as many phone calls or facetime calls you like if needed too. I'll research the venue / layout. Shoot your wedding then start the edit. I can be contacted anytime day and night for updates on how the edit is going (normally takes upto 6 weeks to complete everything)
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
2 things come to mind:
1) The groom asked me to secretly film an intimate moment with just him and his new bride (just the 2 of them away from the crowd). He handed her a card and they were straight off to Barbados after the wedding!
2) During the speeches a little boy (step son of the groom) makes a little speech stating he wants the groom to be his real dad and hands over adoption papers. Only time I've cried at a wedding!
What is the one film you wish you had directed and why?
Terminator 2. Just so I could chat with Arnold Schwarzenegger (my absolute hero) all day long.
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
I love a good romantic piano song! Or a cinematic score!
Describe how you got into videography.
I've been into films since I was a kid (just watching them at first). Then as I got older I got the itch to start making my own so I went to University to study the art of filmmaking, I dabbled in short films and documentaries. Then once I graduated I was asked to film a friends wedding and I've not looked back since. Its my dream job and I love it!
