Following the cancellation of our Vegas wedding in May 2020 we decided to re-schedule our elopement in England. Whatley was an obvious choice for us, having previously visited just about a year ago. The grounds and building are fantastic and we love the genuine country vibe of the place. In fact, walking into Whatley does not feel like checking into a hotel, more like visiting your relatives for a week end retreat in the countryside (if you happen to have relatives who live in a splendid Manor house that is). Our wedding ceremony was held in the gazebo in the garden and all the staff was extra attentive, literally we had nothing to worry about but chill and enjoy every moment. The Spa is quite simply the nicest one we have visited in this country, in terms of treatments, facilities available and design. It is stunning. We were lucky to stay for 2 nights and enjoy both Grey Brasserie's and The Dinning Room. The food was absolutely outstanding in both (obviously in very different ways) and the staff always friendly and knowledgeable. Of course the hotel has to comply with Covid-19 restrictions and regulations but it is all done in a very subtle manner. While we were made to feel safe, the sanitizing stations or floor markings for example do not spoil the atmosphere nor elegance of the place. Overall, Whatley Manor is one of these special house you should visit at least once. With staycations on the cards for a little while still, it's never been a better time to do so
