As one of Hertfordshire’s premier wedding venues, we ensure that a perfect Wedding is enjoyed by our couples and guests. Whether you’re looking for a venue steeped in atmosphere with period architecture dating back to medieval times, or a contemporary and spacious venue offering more of a blank canvas then Ware Priory could well be for you… we are where the past and present unite.
Our 7 acres of riverside grounds are the perfect backdrop for photos, drinks receptions, barbeques and garden parties. There are lots of romantic spots overlooking the river including the 2 bridges that cross the inlet of water leading to our island. The island itself has its own bandstand.
Our Catering Partnership with Gusto Catering, Premier Crew Hospitality, The Chef’s Table and The London Kitchen allows us to offer an extended range of menus and cuisines to our guests, and a choice of caterer to suit their individual needs. Each partner brings with them a wealth of experience in event catering, a love of food, exceptional service and the willingness to please their guests.

Nothing I can write here would be enough
We decided 5 weeks from proposal to wedding would be fine! Kat at Ware Priory was amazing before the wedding and on the day. We had 70 day and more evening guests and the ceremony room and conservatory were perfect. Nothing I could write here would be enough

From the initial enquiry, to booking and then the day itself it was just a breeze. We felt so lucky to have such a cooperative venue during a global pandemic and are so thankful they did everything they could to make it feel as normal as possible. The food was great, the service was amazing, the security were friendly, the bar was so quick and Kat was just brilliant with everything and everyone had nothing but compliments! It just ran so smoothly there is honestly nothing I could fault anyone on. We both loved every second of our day and so did everyone else, so just thank you so much !

Highly recommended for a beautiful venue, stunning grounds and fairly priced.
Myself and my now husband got married at Ware Priory in August 2021. From the first visit of viewing the venue right up until our big day (roughly 18 months) the members of staff we met were so helpful, happy to answer any question/worries we had, the communication was excellent and they were pretty quick at getting back to us. Kat made sure our day went smoothly, and ensured everything happened when/as it it should. Highly recommend for a beautiful venue, stunning grounds, and very fairly priced.

A thoroughly splendid day
We had our wedding reception here and it was a thoroughly splendid day. The venue itself is lovely, with a pretty outdoors area to spill into (we were lucky with the weather) and lots of nice backdrops for photos. The support from the venue staff (in particular Kat) both in the planning and on the day was top notch (including accommodating some specific drink requests), and the catering (provided by Gusto) was most excellent, and all quite reasonably priced.

Lots of lovely areas for photos
Brilliant and so helpful when we had to switch venue last minute due to covid restrictions. We actually think the Priory was better than our original choice. Lots of lovely areas for photos too!

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Best wedding in 2021 was one that had to be rebooked 4 times due to the Covid pandemic but that at last went ahead in May. Our lovely couple had the best day and we have since met their lovely new addition to the family.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
On the day, take time to step back and soak up the atmosphere so that you always have the lovely memories and don't forget to relax.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Our Bride that arrived on her own narrow boat along the river.
