Valleyside Barn

We stumbled across Valleyside by accident while staying locally for a friend’s wedding and feel so, so lucky we did. We’re absolutely thrilled we chose to have our summer wedding there: beautiful location, brilliant hosts and excellent facilities. Emma and Matt have picked a glorious spot - everyone remarked on how splendid, green and peaceful the surroundings were - and then furnished it with everything you’d want for a wedding. The prep kitchen was a hit with the caterers, the barn was lovely and airy, you’ve the courtyard for the reception drinks, everything is easily accessible for suppliers (and, indeed, the venue is really easy to reach from both Exeter and Tiverton Parkway for your guests)and the honeymoon suite is really comfortable and spacious (crucial for those getting ready with a few too many bridesmaids!). As an event overseer, Emma is excellent: incredibly details-focussed, very calm and just a nice person to boot. She and Matt were such wonderful hosts & did everything they could to make it a perfect day for us (down to the ordering of the chairs, Matt!) - we can’t thank them enough, we had the best day ever - no stress, just huge fun.

We recently attended an event at Valleyside Barn and must commend the high professional standard of their service and warmth of hospitality. There was nothing to fault about either the preparations or event operation, and no request was too much trouble whenever made. Cannot praise or thank enough Matt and Emma.

A lovely venue. Matt and Emma were lovely and supportive. We had a quick turn around inside due to the rain but Emma made sure everything was set up exactly how our daughter wanted it. I would certainly recommend the venue.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our special day at Valleyside Barn on the 8th of July, 2023, and we couldn't have asked for a more magical experience. An amazing wedding venue! We recently had our wedding at Valleyside and it was incredible. Aside from the venue being stunningly beautiful the help we got from Emma and Matt was brilliant. They are extremely organised and calm during the planning period and of course on the day itself. On the day it unfortunately rained, however, Matt & Emma were very calm and we moved into an indoor ceremony (in fact we made history!). Even so, our indoor ceremony was intimate and still special. We have just got married at Valleyside Barn. It truly is an amazing setting. The barn is beautiful as are the garden & courtyard. There are stunning backdrops for photos. Emma & Matt are the perfect hosts. They have thought of everything, they help with reminders & nothing is too much trouble. Our aim was for a relaxed wedding with everyone enjoying themselves - we remained relaxed the whole time which made everything more enjoyable & memorable. The service was excellent & they must have been running around sorting things but without us noticing as everything was perfect. The honeymoon suite is gorgeous. It really was magical & everyone commented on the venue & how nice Matt & Emma are & we can’t thank them enough.

We recently got married at Valleyside Barn, the most amazing experience, we had the perfect day. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and perfect. Matt and Emma words can not describe how amazing they were, with their help, support, effort and kindness from going to the barn to the the big day. If your looking for a rustic venue this is your venue, highly recommend this venue.

Firstly...A huge Thank you to Matt and Emma, Wow, what a great team they make and what an absolutely fabulous and stunning Venue they have created, right in the heart of mid-Devon, the beautiful picturesque village of Bickleigh. Secondly....I seriously can not speak highly enough of Valleyside, if you want the most perfect wedding with the option of outside or inside ceremony, either in a beautiful Mediterranean/English style courtyard or a modern but rustic style spacious barn, then I urge anyone to at least go view Valleyside Barn!! We got married there on the 2nd July and it was just magical!! Matt and Emma are on hand the whole time, so friendly, approachable and helpful! The Honeymoon suite is just lovely and a gorgeous n luxurious space to get ready in and with complimentary Prosecco and lovely continental breakfasts! Our wedding photos were amazing, shot in their stunning grounds including a beautiful pond with a rock waterfall and a gorgeous over hanging willow tree. Parking is plentiful and so is the welcoming you receive. We had our wedding at Valleyside Barn at the end of June 2022. From the very begging of getting in touch, Emma and Matt have been friendly, generous and incredibly helpful. They allowed us to create the wedding of our dreams, in a venue that can only be described as stunning! They were flexible and helped facilitate everything we wanted. The barn is renovated to an incredibly high standard, and allowed for a fantastic day of celebration and parties. We were able to use the outside space to play cricket and football, and generally show our guests how beautiful Devon is. Matt even went to the trouble of turning on all the fairy lights when it got dark, without anyone asking him to. Emma and Matt made the day run seamlessly. Even when the weather forecast took a turn for the worse the day before the wedding, Emma and Matt had a plan B which was stress free from our perspective. There were multiple options for wonderful photo places, which have allowed us to get great images from the day. The experience of staying in the bridal suite was phenomenal. Emma was diligent, timely and nothing-but a force of positivity and support on the day before, the day of and the day after our wedding. Having the glamping pods on site made easy accommodation for guests who had travelled afar. Overall, a beautiful venue in a fantastic location with exceptional owners. Thank you very much for all that you have done for us, we would highly recommend this venue to people wanting a fun, stunning and personalised wedding.

Emma and Matt were absolute stars on helping us on our Big day. They went above and beyond to make sure the day went without a hitch! We had so many lovely comments on how beautiful the venue was and how lovely the surrounding area was. We highly recommend the venue as it is breath-taking.
