Having looked at many venues around the area, Ugbrooke House stood out like a shining star. Both Jaga and I agreed instantly that the general approach, the friendliness of the staff and the grounds and the house was very much aligned to our ideas of what we wanted to achieve.
Having had a tour of the house and grounds by Donna, we were blown away by her knowledge and enthusiasm about the estate. Also having a Roman Catholic chapel on site was a huge benefit and assisted in ticking all of our requirements, meaning that we didn’t have to have a separate location for ceremony and reception. With so many spaces and possibilities, it was concreted in our hearts as the place we were going to get married.
All the team were incredibly understanding and helpful with the dynamic environment of 2020 and the inevitable change of plans and dates. The adaptability and flexibility of the venue and the staff was a huge factor in us getting married at Ugbrooke House in such strange conditions, for which we are very grateful.
The experience on the day was one which we will never forget. Even though it was a significantly reduced numbers from what we had hoped for, it actually made it even more special. The team were genuinely amazing and provided us with everything we needed at any time. They all provided a blend of elegant and discrete service which is something many in the service industry miss the mark with. The food provided was nothing short of incredible and truly delicious, the praise from all guest about the food and event is still talked about today, like it was yesterday. All of our guests refer to it as the best wedding they have ever been to.
For couples thinking of having their wedding at the venue, I would say, go and visit… once you have experienced what is on offer at Ugbrooke, the decision itself won’t be difficult. It is a beautiful location and one that cannot be replicated anywhere else. It was a privilege to be able to get married at Ugbrooke and have our reception there, I am sure anyone else will appreciate its unique attributes once they see it and experience it.
