Description

A unique opportunity to get married after 550 years. Tuckers Hall was built and has been owned by the Guild of Weavers, Tuckers and Shearmen since 1471, but the earliest record of a Guild of Clothworkers in Exeter is 1459, when a dispute with the Cordwainers as to antiquity and precedence is recorded.

Happy couple married in June
July 2022
It was great being in the centre of Exeter
Tuckers Hall is a unique venue for a wedding  and, combined with The Beadle conducting the ceremony, we and our guests had a very special and memorable day.  With its oak paneled walls, carvings and barrel roof, it has a very powerful sense of history and look.     It was great being in the centre of Exeter.   Our guests had lots of choices of where to stay with an easy walk to the Hall.  Once inside it feels a long way away from the centre of Exeter and the sense of history and tradition is very strong.     Wearing his Beadles regalia (coat, hat and staff) Davy (the Beadle) led the day and conducted a handfasting ceremony using Exeter cloth. It was a very moving ceremony and we had so many comments afterwards about what a special day it was – a major part of that being The Beadle and Tuckers Hall.  The Hall looked very beautiful.   There are various way the Hall could work for a wedding day and Davy helped us with that. He had numerous suggestions about how it could work and he worked positively with the florist and caterers that we wanted to use. We had 30 guests, with a ceremony followed by a served buffet.    Tuckers Hall will not give you a typical ‘hotel’ type wedding but it will give an absolutely unique venue and experience.  We are so pleased we chose Tuckers Hall.  With huge thanks to the  Beadle.
