- BBecs & Dan15/11/2021Everything was perfectEverything was perfectWe got married at the Wordsworth 3 weeks ago and everything was perfect. Right from the start of the planning process the Wordsworth were organised and ensured we had the right package for the day. Rachel, the wedding planner was great ensuring to stay on top of any amendments and changes keeping the whole planning process calm and enjoyable. The wedding weekend itself was perfect. We met Rach on the Friday to run through everything one final time and to go through the decorations. This put us at ease. The morning of the wedding was fab- the Bridal suite is beautiful and there is plenty of space for getting ready. I had 6 bridesmaids, 2 x make up artists, a hair dresser and a photographer in there and me and there was still room, plus there were sarnies and champagne to keep us going! The sun came out 10 mins before the ceremony and from there on in we had the best day ever! The wedding breakfast was ran to perfection with Rach overseeing everything as the master of ceremonies. The food was delicious- I can recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Everything ran smoothly and everyone enjoyed the food. The decorations looked great and there was a relaxed atmosphere throughout. The evening function room worked well for 120 people and the dancefloor was just the right size with the band at the front. Everyone also thoroughly enjoyed their bacon and sausage sandwiches. All in all we could not fault our wedding day, it was perfect in every way, thank you to Rach and the rest of the Wordsworth team for helping to make it so perfect.We just wish we could do it all over again!We got married at the Wordsworth 3 weeks ago and everything was perfect. What can we say from the day we booked it to the day of the wedding the experience was exceptional. We would especially like to thank Rachael for all her hard work, no details were missed and she went above and beyond our expectations. The food was fantastic and so was the service that day, the staff were fantastic and we couldnt of asked for anything more. We couldnt of asked for a better day and would recommend this hotel for anyone considering a wedding in Grasmere. The receptionist even managed to find us a room so we could stay an extra night. We got married here on 1st April 2017 and absolutely would recommend this as a wedding venue or as a hotel stay. The hotel itself is gorgeous with lovely rooms. We had the inclusive exclusive wedding package which basically meant 100 of our friends and family took over the whole hotel and all the rooms from Friday lunch til Sunday lunch. This in itself was so amazing. To have all the people we love in one place for the whole weekend rather than just the big day. The staff were so lovely. In particular Rachael the wedding coordinator who was amazing from the minute she showed us round initially, through the months leading up to the big day (and my hundreds of emails which she always responded to), through the day itself and after. Genuinely thank you so much Rachael! Also, a special mention to Cat who spent a lot of time setting up the IT needed for the groom’s speech. Everyone raved about every aspect of the wedding from the venue, the bedrooms, the grounds (we got the sun from about lunchtime ?), the food for the wedding breakfast. We had the ceremony, breakfast and evening do all in the Coleridge suite which meant we had to come out while the room was changed around each time but because of the grounds and all the little lounges which interconnect, it wasn’t a problem at all. In fact, it added to the day. The hotel recommendations for the flowers, cake, hairdresser and photographer were also outstanding: Flowers – Lily Lou’s of Ambleside Cake – Beauleas Cake Studio Lea Holcroft Photographer – Steve Holcroft Hair – Aqua the Salon I seriously cannot recommend this hotel enough, so much so that we’re going back there for our mini moon!Sorry this may be a long review…..
