Full Description
Your guests will arrive in Worstead Park via a grand lime tree avenue and travel through 300 acres of historic parkland to The Woodyard. The venue itself includes a lovingly restored thatched sawmill, courtyard and western terrace to enjoy the evening sun. For your ceremony you will have the choice of vaulted ceilings in the thatched barn, the bright and airy mulberry room or alfresco on our lake island. You may chose to arrive at the lake island for your ceremony in our vintage 1930s row boat. Your wedding breakfast will be prepared on site in our fully equipped kitchen. You will be able to support our sustainable practices by enjoying beer brewed on the estate as well as other estate produce. The West Terrace features the Worstead Mulberry, a 400 hundred year old mulberry bush, where you can take in the sunset with cocktails. The venue has a state-of-the-art sound system and everything you need to make this a party to remember. There are four beautifully renovated Georgian cottages on the estate sleeping a total of 31 guests. Each period cottage has been restored to the highest luxury standards and includes a hot tub. The bridal accommodation is directly opposite the venue and has its own private walled garden - ideal for gatherings the evening before the wedding. You're not just hiring a venue, you will be looked after by our experienced team and can enjoy everything the estate has to offer. Our equestrian centre can arrange private hacking or you can enjoy estate reared Wagyu beef in a private chef experience. We have beautiful walks on the estate and we are only a few minutes drive from the beaches of North Norfolk and the Broads National park.

Gorgeous Wedding
Dear Emily and the rest of the team at Worstead, Thank you so much for all your help in the lead up to, and on our wedding day. It has been exciting to have been one of the first few weddings at Worstead and to have seen the venue going from construction site to the beautiful venue it is today! We had a great day, and the venue looked absolutely gorgeous in the sunshine. We wish you all the best as a venue and hope to come back and visit the farm shop (coach house) once open! Best wishes, Harriet and Will x

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

The best weddings are always the most relaxed weddings. Harriet, William and their guest enjoyed the beautiful weather and setting in such warm and relaxed company. Everyone one was there to enjoy themselves and that's what counts.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Enjoy the process. It will all come together in the end so enjoy the planning process, and try not to stress or compare your ideas with others. Your wedding is meant to be about the two of you, and what the two of you love and enjoy, rather than worrying about the most recent trend or craze.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A firm favourite has to be the time a bride snuck off for dhol drum lessons every Sunday for 6 months. They had booked dhol drummers to announce the two of them into the room for the evening party - a nod to his Indian heritage, and once they were on the dance floor, she surprised him (and all the guests) with a solo dhol drum performance.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Historic, natural, spacious, characterful and charming.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The Lake Island during the golden hour before sunset is a favourite for couples. Dragonflies dance around the glass surface and a family of swans is often seen there as they nest on the island.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We are not in a position to mention our clients or guests by name.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Sukiyaki Wagyu beef canapé - they really do melt in you mouth.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Has to be a hog roast - there are many fantastic street food vans you can book for your wedding.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The setting of the venue is Worstead Park - a Humphry Repton landscape untouched for 100 years until now. It plays host to all kinds of wildlife including deer, otter, water birds and dragonfly. You really are isolated in nature with only your loved ones and wildlife for company.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We are most proud of the care taken by all our staff in hosting guests on the estate.
