Emma Tompkins
Happy couple married in August
October 2018
Best wedding ever
The Tompkins Wedding 5th August 2017 -The Three Tuns, Bransgore This has taken a while for me to write, not because I didn’t know what to say, but because Rebekah has been nothing but a delight to have been in contact with over the year, and we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to help us plan our special day. By writing this, it means our wedding is over and all the emails to Rebekah will slow down, but we know that Rebekah will always have a special place in our hearts, and we will always be coming back to The Tuns. So Rebekah this is for you, Em xx Alex and I got engaged in May 2016 and we knew that we wanted to get married within the summer of the following year. Within the next couple of days we were straight onto google to look up venues and wedding ideas. The September before our engagement, a couple of our friends got married at The Three Tuns which we had never been to before, but instantly got an amazing vibe when visiting. The Three Tuns was on our list of venues to ‘check out’ again along with a couple of others. We arranged to meet a lady called Rebekah who was in charge of all the events at The Three Tuns. We knew that this venue was very popular, and due to wanting to get married on a Saturday in August we knew that we had to get in contact quickly, so Alex emailed Rebekah who was very quick to respond. When we went to view The Three Tuns, we were asked to go and wait in the pub (which is very quirky and homely!) and Rebekah was quick to appear and offer us any drinks. In the car on the way to meet Rebekah, Alex and I were saying that we weren’t going to be forced into choosing the venue or pressured in any way (which happened at other venues!) Well, Rebekah was completely the opposite. Rebekah took us straight round the back of the pub to where our reception could potentially be held. Rebekah allowed us time to look around and explore (There are so many areas, its great) When we were ready Rebekah asked us what we thought of the venue and answered any questions that we had. Rebekah then asked us what we both did and what kind of a wedding theme we would be going for. We said that it was going to be a beach/surf themed wedding, and Rebekah thought of some ideas that we could do using this venue. From visiting our friends wedding to going back and seeing the venue again, Alex and I were completely in love. At The Three Tuns, there are so many possibilities and you can make it your own wedding (keep it as original as you want). The best part is, there are horses in the surrounding fields that come up for photos! Along with all of this, knowing that The Three Tuns is family run we decided that we wanted to have our wedding there. I mean you only have to look at the photos to know how beautiful it is. After securing the venue with the deposit, it was time to start planning! The amazing thing about Rebekah is, you can email her anything at any time and she will be at the end of the email, and she will ALWAYS ask if there is anything else she can do for you. If you start getting stressed, you can tell her and she will call you down to chat face to face. I regularly emailed Rebekah with ideas and kept her informed with everything. Over this time we formed a good relationship and Rebekah was able to share her ideas with us and how to keep within our budget (which was not only good, but VERY helpful). Then it came to a few weeks before the wedding and the build up. I’ve heard that some brides get quite stressed before their wedding day, however I honestly didn’t (well, only once but that was about my hair for the wedding, and that’s another story) but Rebekah even helped with that and calmed me down!! I believe that one of the reasons as to why I didn’t feel stressed was because of the relationship that had been built with Rebekah, and the trust that had been formed. Rebekah had listened and knew exactly what we wanted. Two days before the wedding, Rebekah was waiting for us at the venue to drop all of our equipment off (we had made quite a lot for the wedding, including two hand decorated surf boards) with her team who were as friendly and helpful as Rebekah. We met Rebekah’s team that were going to be helping at our wedding on the Saturday and you could tell that they loved what they did and where they worked. To me, it says a lot if the staff are happy and love what they do and that’s what I loved about our wedding. There was so much love and joy that filled the venue. The Tompkins Wedding The day arrived! 15 months of planning, 15 months of emails, all for this day. Our ceremony was held at a church in Bournemouth so shortly after this finished guests made there was to The Three Tuns. Rebekah was on hand with her team ready to greet people as they entered and introduced herself to the best men. When Alex and I arrived Rebekah was ready with our drinks and instantly asked how we were feeling and if there was anything she could do. Rebekah and her team were so willing and happy. The team behind the bar were so helpful and had a good time with the guests! Everyone was happy. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. That is not something that brides usually say, usually something goes wrong. The Three Tuns was laid out exactly how we wanted, all the finishing touches, it was perfect. We chose to have the BBQ menu 2 and the food was amazing. Everyone raved at how nice the burgers were (thats the one thing I regret, I didn’t eat my burger due to nerves). In the evening we decided to have fish and chips in a cone, and they were the BEST fish and chips. Two of Rebekah’s team were handing them out to the guests and everyone loved them. The best thing about our wedding? The happiness, love and joy that shone throughout the day. Everyone that we have spoken to about the wedding has said how perfect the day was, and how it was simply just about Alex and I. For anyone that is thinking about getting married at The Three Tuns, there are some simple steps that I would encourage you to take: 1. Like The Three Tuns Events Facebook page and look at there photos 2. Get in touch with Rebekah and view the venue 3. I don’t need to say anymore, if The Three Tuns is for you, then you will get the vibe. The Three Tuns will always have a special place in our hearts, and we simply cannot thank Rebekah and her team enough. You are all amazing. Rebekah you have a heart of gold, I simply do not know how you do what you do. I cannot recommend Three Tuns enough for a wedding or even a special occasion. Honestly, this was the easiest decision for the wedding, you won’t regret it. Rebekah, thank you doesn’t even justify how much thanks you deserve. I’m still going to come and see you (and the horses!) We will see you soon, Mr & Mrs Tompkins
