The charming Oakhouse offers a unique wedding ceremony and reception experience. Licensed for civil ceremonies, with a capacity of 120 guests for your evening reception, we really can take care of your entire day here at the hotel. If your preference is a church wedding, the stunning St. Johns the Baptist Church sits right next door!
Our team of highly skilled chef’s and genuine hospitable front of house team ensure a perfectly comfortable and cosy experience for you and your guests.
As an exclusive use venue, our hotel and 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms become exclusively yours for the duration of your wedding day. Enjoy the benefits of your very own private house for 24 hours! You can also continue the festivities into the morning with a private breakfast with your staying guests on site. Your exclusive hire runs from 11am on your wedding day, until 11am the following day!
Not forgetting our picturesque private grounds and gardens in the Courthouse, perfect for drinks receptions and photographs in the warmer months, including marquee weddings for up to 120 guests. Why not break up your day with a marquee wedding breakfast and then a cosy, relaxed evening reception throughout the hotel once the sun goes down.

Their service, professionalism and down to earth-ness made our experience one we'll never forget. We left feeling we had extended our family and all of our guest felt the same! They are really flexible and approachable, meaning your wedding can be all 'you'! Honestly can't recommend them enough!Oakhouse blew us away! At a time when we couldn't find anywhere to help us with the small, intimate wedding day we wanted due to covid, Bri came to our rescue! We had come across the Oakhouse during our research of wedding venues but had discounted it for being out of our price range. However we really wanted a dog-friendly venue so that our spaniel Amber could be with us for our celebrations and so we contacted Bri in the hope she could help us. From our very first email, nothing was ever too much to ask. Bri listened to all of our requests and was able to advise us and assist us in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. While I know the Oakhouse offer extensive wedding packages, we were able to work with Bri and the team to plan a day at a fraction of the cost, which suited our needs and requirements. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It was everything we dreamed of. I really cannot recommend the Oakhouse team enough. The customer service, passion and genuine care for each client that they provide, stands them heads above anywhere else we approached. In terms of our day - The decor that the hotel provided was beautiful and really complemented the decorations we brought along too. Marina and Dave went absolutely above and beyond, working non-stop to ensure every little detail was thought about and on the day they treated us like a King and Queen! We felt thoroughly spoilt and lucky to have had such a wonderful wedding day, exactly how we had imagined. Thank you for letting us have the band, for letting us bring our dog, for setting everything up so beautifully! The food was fantastic. We opted for a relaxed buffet but again, the menu and options were tailored to exactly what we wanted every step of the way, working with the multiple choices the hotel already provided. Firstly a massive massive thank you to all the amazing staff who spent the evening before the wedding preparing the room and setting it up to look fantastic. It went way beyond our wildest expectations and looked phenomenal. I went to bed that night with no worries because i knew you all wanted it to be amazing for us. It was a very late night into the morning prepping for us to have a brilliant day. You guys rocked. It was a great evening listening to music, singing and a bit of swaying whilst everything came together. Thank you to Kelly the chef who had to deal with last minute guest changes and meals. Kelly gave us multiple options for our guests who had intolerances and an allergy. The Oakhouse were so chilled out about this which made us relax even more. Every meal we have had here before the wedding has been great. The food is to such a high standard no one is left feeling dissatisfied. Portion sizes are incredible. My now mother in law has now become a regular here for meals and occasional drinks. She is always welcomed like an old friend. She loves coming back and says it was the best choice to have our wedding hosted here and this was before the wedding. There was so much pride and love that went into our wedding, it was like working with friends and family. On the day itself, It was amazing. Both Mel and Marina came up to the church with me helped me with my dress and made sure it laid well as i entered the church. On coming back down we were met by drinks in the square and Marina quickly dispatched my flowers into water to keep them fresh. These were displayed all evening on the reception desk so guests could see them, alongside the bridesmaids. Kelly set up our donut tower cake which looked fantastic despite us holding it up with cello tape! (my fault) It was moved when we needed to cut it and guests assembled for us. Everything was done with no fuss made and felt effortless for us as a couple. They filled us with so much confidence that we could just relax and enjoy the day to the fullest. The wedding breakfast was a huge success. Everyone said how great the food was and the portions were huge. The tables were beautifully laid out. So so much thought went into this from the team the night before. There are so so many little things i could list that The Oakhouse Hotel and it’s staff did that were above and beyond that i would be here all day listing them. Things we didn’t think off but they anticipated for us. Amazeballs! The staff are brilliant, kind, funny and super helpful, plus great dancers on the night to help your guests along. Make sure your DJ plays “Summer of 69” Dancing behind the bar with them is optional though! Dave thank you for helping our 2 guests who had disability requirements. They said you were so kind and everyone commented on you helping out Uncle Dave on the stairs and our other guest In a wheel chair. She was so delighted to be able to come and thought she wouldn’t be able to due to the different levels in the oak house. Nisha thank you for the swift execution of “the ramp” and checking on my teenagers for me during the evening. It was lovely of you to do so and for all your help over the past 2 days. Nothing was ever a bother for you and made my life so much easier and less stressful. Actually i can say there was no stress at all as it was all handled so bloody well! Marina!! What can we say? You have been amazing throughout this entire process. your enthusiasm is contagious and your suggested changes were the right ones. Thank you for your support throughout this wedding. It took us a while to get here thanks to Covid. But It will not be forgotten and one of our most treasured memories. We did not stop smiling and laughing all day and night! Utterly brilliant and we couldn’t have done it all without your hard work and dedication. Our families and friends have said how wonderful it was and how thoroughly enjoyable it was. Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our medieval stone wall makes the most beautiful rustic backdrop for photographs, but our very 'best' spot would have to be the Courthouse Gardens in the summer time!

To us, every single one of our couples are VIP's. We will make sure you feel like a celebrity on your big day.

We love a dessert canape - the Eton Mess Shot is a firm favourite amongst the team.

Our most unique feature is our historic background and features including our stone wall, well and roaring inglenook fireplace.
