The Maynard

We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The venue is beautiful and the garden space was perfect for our garden games but there still been more than enough room for all our guests to move about and enjoy the day. Lisa made the day perfect. She went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Nothing was too much. Some times you hear about things going wrong on wedding days but I can say that nothing went wrong for our day and I believe that is down to all the staff working together and making sure the bride and groom have the best day. All staff members were lovely, I didn’t catch the guys name but he was bringing out the canapés and he made sure that everyone got something and that myself and the groom had ours as we were busy taking photos. He was lovely. Everyone was attentive and had great attitudes making the day even better as everyone was happy and bringing excitement to the day. I could relive this day a million times and wouldn’t change a thing. Lisa is amazing and I’m so glad we got her as our wedding coordinator.

The staff couldn't do enough. Everything was planned perfectly, all little details remembered. The rooms were lovely and the food fantastic. I would 100% recommend the Maynard to any couple looking for their perfect wedding venue.

The Maynard were so friendly and helpful right from the start of planning our wedding, and took care of everything on our big day so that we could just relax and celebrate! Katie, Zoe and Lisa and the team were lovely, thank you guys for all your hard work! Couldn't have asked for more. The venue was beautiful, great setting for outdoor drinks and photos. Bedrooms were really nice, love the big bath tub! Everyone enjoyed the food and were nicely full. Would recommend getting married here!

The Maynard wedding team (Zoe, Katie and Lisa) went above and beyond to help create the wedding day of our dreams. From the day we walked into the venue to view it until we checked out the day after our wedding, their care and attention was second to none. They were very focussed on the small details of the day, which helped it to flow very smoothly. Their catering was fantastic and they were brilliant at looking after our guests with dietary requirements and they made everyone in our family feel so welcome. Thank you so much!

We viewed a lot of venues before finding The Maynard and it stood out. The staff instantly filled us with confidence that they cared about giving us the best day possible. The level of detail and planning was exceptional and as such on our wedding day we didn't have to think about or sort anything. It was all taken care of by the amazing team. The food at The Maynard is fantastic and there was a good selection to chose from. We particularly enjoyed the menu tasting evening that they put on for couples. We would highly recommend this venue.

Having eaten and stayed at The Maynard many times it didn’t disappoint as our wedding venue. A huge thank you to Katie (wedding planner) and her team. From the moment we met Katie we were relaxed and so excited for our wedding day. Nothing was a problem and our needs were met in every way. The day was effortless and not having to worry about anything meant we thoroughly enjoyed our day. The food was outstanding, particularly the beef wellington. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Staying in the stunning bridal suite ended the day perfectly and what a view to wake up to. Thank you again to everyone at The Maynard for giving us the best wedding day we could ask for xx

When we first looked round the Maynard we instantly fell in love with it the venue gives a traditional wedding feel but with a modern twist it’s just stunning, it’s in the most incredible location, a beautiful well kept building with stunning grounds and food to die for. Lisa our wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more, nothing was too much trouble and the entire day ran perfectly from start to finish, Lisa made us feel at ease throughout the day ensuring ourselves and all our guests were having the best time. The whole team at the Maynard are just brilliant. The food was just amazing all our guests commented on how tasty it all was from the canapés to the hog roast at night! I would recommend this stunning venue to any bride and groom looking for a countryside wedding with an incredible team to make your day everything you dream it to be! We wish we could do it all again! Thank you so much!

We knew as soon as we visited The Maynard that this was the venue for us. From the beautiful building, to the stunning views over the Peak District and the most helpful staff who greeted us the day we first came to view the venue, we knew we wanted to get married there. It goes without saying that if you have never planned a wedding before you really don't know where to start, and everything you need to consider - down to the very tiniest of details. The Maynard helped us every step of the way with this. Lisa, our Events Coordinator was amazing, her attention to detail was outstanding and I felt so at ease throughout our entire wedding planning journey with her. I was a DIY bride, and Lisa was so accommodating with everything we wanted, nothing was too much for her and the team. She took the time to sit down and regularly catch up with us to ensure she knew what we wanted on our wedding day so that she could bring our vision to life on the day. The one thing I loved about the venue is the absolutely stunning views, not just outside but inside too. All throughout the day and even now we still have people commenting how beautiful the venue is. And the best thing is, you don't have to style every inch of the building, if you are like us and wanted more minimal décor, the venue speaks for itself and is just as beautiful. A lot of people say how sad they are when their wedding is over, and I can't lie and say I'm not sad that we don't have the wedding day to look forward to anymore. But what I will say is, the wedding was so perfect I would not do anything different if we were to do it again, and I'm so grateful the memory I have of this day is a happy one, and one that personally I don't think could have gone any better! I just want to say a massive thank you to The Maynard and team you have all been so amazing throughout the last 18 months. But more importantly I want to say thank you to Lisa. On the day you were amazing, and you really brought our vision to life, you made everything run so smoothly and always came by not just to myself and the groom, but other guests too, to make sure people were happy and having a good time. You can see the genuine passion you have for your work and it shines through not just on the day but throughout the whole planning too!

We had the best day at our wedding at The Maynard, it's a gorgeous location in Grindleford. The food was delicious, but most of all the staff were so helpful. On the day we didn't have to worry about anything at all because the team made everything run so smoothly. The hotel rooms are lovely too. Can't have asked for a better day!

The team truly gave us the best day of our lives. We still return every year for our anniversary to celebrate. Every detail was taken care of and if anything went wrong we didn’t know about it. It’s the perfect venue with amazing views from the hotel and close enough the Peak District to go out and get some amazing pictures. Food is incredible and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, generally lovely and seemed just as excited and happy as we were. Cannot recommend this venue enough. You will not be disappointed and will have the best day of your lives.
