We got married at your venue in June 2023. This is the first time anybody from The Lawrence has contacted us to ask how our day went.
Most of our experience with you left us quite unhappy. When the evening guests arrived, you increased all the prices at the bar. Afterward, many of our guests told us they were charged an extra £2–£3 per drink. Additionally, there was no drinks price list displayed behind the bar, which I believe is a legal requirement when serving alcohol. As a result, the majority of our guests chose to go across the road to the Gardeners Arms, where the drinks were significantly cheaper.
Regarding the wedding itself, we noticed that The Lawrence often showcases photographs from other people’s weddings. However, there isn’t a single photo of our wedding on any of your pages. It feels as though our wedding never even happened there. During the planning stage, we had frequent meetings with Michael, and everything was presented to us in a wonderful light. But after the event, it was as though it was forgotten and like it never happened. This has left us feeling quite upset.
