We got married at your venue in June 2023. This is the first time anybody from The Lawrence has contacted us to ask how our day went. Most of our experience with you left us quite unhappy. When the evening guests arrived, you increased all the prices at the bar. Afterward, many of our guests told us they were charged an extra £2–£3 per drink. Additionally, there was no drinks price list displayed behind the bar, which I believe is a legal requirement when serving alcohol. As a result, the majority of our guests chose to go across the road to the Gardeners Arms, where the drinks were significantly cheaper. Regarding the wedding itself, we noticed that The Lawrence often showcases photographs from other people’s weddings. However, there isn’t a single photo of our wedding on any of your pages. It feels as though our wedding never even happened there. During the planning stage, we had frequent meetings with Michael, and everything was presented to us in a wonderful light. But after the event, it was as though it was forgotten and like it never happened. This has left us feeling quite upset.

What a day. The standard of service was excellent. Nothing was too much, food was delicious and atmosphere was exceptional.

From first speaking to Mike at the wedding open day we attended when we’d first got engaged to the morning after our beautiful wedding day, the whole team at The Lawrence were just amazing. I couldn’t have asked for more from them, they were always quick to respond when I had any queries and were so understanding and patient with us when we wanted to make some changes. The staff were all so lovely and friendly and made us and all of our guests feel so comfortable. Our day was absolutely perfect, just how we wanted it. All of our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the beautiful venue and food. I would highly recommend this venue to anybody looking for their perfect wedding day.

Everything was just amazing. The staff were so attentive, professional and friendly. Their attention to detail and willingness to go that little extra was so special. They dealt with any minor hiccups promptly, discreetly and always with a smile. From the food to the decor and flowers and the million little touches. It was a magnificent day and we are so happy we chose the Lawrence for our special day. Thank you to Mike and the team for everything.

We had the best day ever. The attention to detail was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Michael and Alison were amazing.

We booked our wedding back in 2021 with Michael, who was absolutely amazing, he went through everything with us, his words was “it will come round so quick” little did we know it actually did, the build up to the wedding and along the way we met Alison & nadine the wedding coordinators who both was also amazing, kept us reassured about the order of the day and how they’ll be at the wedding to ensure everything runs smoothly, the ladies and josh (the manager) really was the ones who got us through it all, I would definitely recommend getting married at the Lawrence, the venue it’s self is stunning, and having kind, hard working staff is even better! The day of our wedding really was one of the best days of our life’s, big thank you to all staff we will be forever grateful for everything they’ve done.
