Full Description
The Grove is a grade II listed building, originally built as a country retreat for the founders of Barclays Bank. The Grove is set in four acres of gardens, and has a two rosette restaurant and bar. The Grove itself can accommodate up to 39 people overnight, and can host your small wedding in the main house, or larger one in Sundown, our permanent giant tipis situated in landscaped gardens. We don't have set menus for wedding breakfasts as like to discuss this with our guests in order to meet you needs precisely.

A perfect wedding night away
A perfect wedding night away The Good: We chose this place for our wedding night as we wanted something a little special. Staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Accommodation was great and clean with underfloor heating, multiple choices of teas and coffee, a cafetiere and bathroom accessories. The places outside looked beautiful lit up at night.

What more could you ask for ? Nothing.
The epitome of a successful family-run, country house hotel. Kind, friendly and engaging people everywhere - front of house, waiting staff, chefs, gardeners and even the handyman! We had a supremely comfortable [Orchard] room down the garden, with plenty of space, a great bed and a bathroom with a powerful shower. There's a hidden indoor pool in the lovely garden, which you reserve and have all to yourself (bliss). Vegetable beds for fresh produce and a beautiful Victorian greenhouse. Plenty of parking. Best of all, a short walk through the woods behind the garden brings you to a path overlooking Cromer beach - from there, only 15 minutes to the pier and the town. Delicious food from an interesting menu. What more could you ask for ? Nothing.

I was very happy staying at The Grove, and intend to return some time The Good: Beautiful period property, with equally beautiful grounds which I enjoyed (and the walk through the woods to the sea). I enjoyed the use of the sitting room- I felt relaxed and comfortable in the shared spaces. Delicious breakfast with very good selection of food- and I very much enjoyed dinner too: well presented and cooked, good quality ingredients. Lovely room - and friendly, helpful staff.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't give too many people too many options to choose from.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One couple arranged to put each guests' favourite drink in their room on arrival.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

A combination of quirky and classic

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The Study, in winter, but there are so many areas of the garden to choose from in nice weather.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Several, but we are sworn to secrecy.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Hot smoked mackerel with Binham Blue cheese.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

A dip in the pool, or a five minute walk through our gardens to see the sea.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The way every guest says it makes them feel like they have just come home.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our great staff. Sundown tipis are pretty cool as well, though.
