Our beautiful wedding spaces can accommodate celebrations from 2 to 120 guests, whether you’re dreaming of an intimate elopement for just the two of you, a celebration with your closest family and friends, or a grand Great Estate wedding.
Seating up to 60 guests, Winston’s Barn is a charming 17th-century barn filled with original character, including a vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beams. The Garnett Room, flooded with natural daylight, provides a contemporary setting for up to 80 guests with plenty of room for that all-important grand entrance.
Or embrace the beauty of the estate with an unforgettable outdoor ceremony. Exchange vows beneath our elegant lakeside pillars, surrounded by shimmering water and rolling Yorkshire countryside, or say “I do” on our lakeview terrace with the estate as your backdrop.

We spent our engagement day here and then decided two years later to hold our wedding there. The best decision we have made, the whole day was perfect, the venue looked stunning. The food and drink was outstanding, staff were friendly and courteous. We couldn’t have asked for a better day (well apart from less rain!) but even with the rain we were still smiling. We have many happy memories at The Coniston hotel. We spent our engagement day here and then decided two years later to hold our wedding there. The best decision we have made, the whole day was perfect, the venue looked stunning. The food and drink was outstanding, staff were friendly and courteous. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not the easiest however the support and professionalism from you was everything we needed to get through. The Coniston was such a perfect setting for our wedding. We chose not to look at another venue because after the first visit we completely fell in love with hotel and the stunning surroundings. Then the day, just wow! It was everything we dreamed of and so much more. You brought all my ideas to life and it really was the day I dreamt of. By the end of the day, you and all the staff felt like a part of the day, even joining us on the dance floor towards the end of the evening! It just would not have been the same without you all. Chris's health took a tumble after the wedding, he ended up being hospitalised for a few days which was a really scary, our lives were turned upside down. A lot has had to change since our day, however things are looking up again now and we are enjoying married life. We just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to you for making our day the absolute best, without you it wouldn't of happened the way it did. We all had such an amazing day, we are still looking back on the day today. We've had the pictures back and they are just incredible. Honestly you did such a great job, keeping us both calm from the minute we booked our special day with you. Right up to until we said "I do"! Thank you again for everything you and the Coniston family, did for us and our families to make them feel so welcome at the wedding. Praises, were said all round everyone absolutely loved the day and were amazed by the beautiful view over Coniston. Could you please pass our thanks onto all that worked on 12th of March. We found the venue within days of starting to look and booked immediately without hesitation. The hotel is beautiful inside and out with warm welcoming staff and grounds that absolutely blow you away, an absolutely stunning backdrop for a wedding. Sharon [and Emily] guided us the planning of our wedding in the 20 months leading up, always at the end of the phone or email even on her days off. She assured us she had everything in hand and to enjoy our day and from the moment she came to see us on the morning until she left she did just that. We had a beautiful stress free day, far surpassing our expectations and Sharon and all the staff we dealt with on that day - Danny and AnneMarie on the evening - are to be credited for us being able to do that. The spaces we used were lovely, the food was delicious, enjoyed and commented on by all of our guests and we couldn’t fault our beautiful day and the days either side that we stayed and ate at the hotel. You and the team at Coniston are truly amazing and our day was perfect, the Bannister suite looked fantastic, it was brilliant that all the children had room to play and felt so at home, our guest all had a great time and it was incredible to have us altogether at last I’ve attached a few photos that guest took, We are looking forward to visiting very soon!
