Wonderful Time!

The perfect room!
Impressive historic building in central location. Lovely peaceful garden with wild and manicured areas amongst old stone wall ruins with lots of sheltered seating options. Dog friendly - water bowl and mat in room. Hotel tastefully furnished throughout. Comfortable welcoming lounge areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommend the Blackdown Suite. Fabulous! Huge spacious room. Dressing area. Large well fitted bathroom. Bathrobes provided. Sumptuous furnishings. Massive very comfortable bed. Large windows and garden views. Such a lovely room we didn’t want to leave!

Thank you so much for your beautiful hotel and it’s ambience. We loved the building, the furniture, the character, the wisteria, the pigeons, the gardens. Thank You to all of the staff who looked after us so well. It couldn’t have been better. The meal was outstanding, the table was sophisticated and beautiful. The waiter looked after every little detail with so much care. It makes me realise how much better it is to go to a family owned hotel.

Perfect!
The Castle Suite was practically perfect - just the best place to get ready for and retreat to for my 50th birthday celebrations. The team were friendly and professional and the room was very well appointed and equipped. The only thing I think they could work on is the tired bobbly old blanket at the bottom of the bed.
I live in Taunton so this really was an indulgent treat but it wS fabulous in every way. Great breakfast in the morning. Thank you Ronan and your entire team!

Lovely!
I booked this place half thinking it would be a gimmick modern venue, but was stunned to find it's a real castle circa 900 years old bang in the centre of town. Gloriously well adapted building with comfortable rooms and a breakfast area combined with an outward facing wine bar. It's not cheap but it is reasonable value with on site parking (charged at £10) with the whole town on your doorstep. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back... Highly recommended for groups and events, or a treat weekend away.

Well, any wedding picture is great, especially when it includes confetti but At the back of our Norman Gardens we have a beautiful hidden place, perfect for the couples photos. I don’t want to spoil the secret so myself and the team would love to show you the spot for ourselves.
