Travel Notes
Travelling by train
Edinburgh has two railway stations: Waverley and Haymarket. Waverley is the main station, situated on Princes Street – 1 1/2 miles away and is approximately 10 minutes by taxi to the hotel. Haymarket Station to the west of the city centre is 5 minutes by taxi, half a mile away.
Driving from the West and Edinburgh Airport
From the M8 Eastbound, take the A8 and after the airport to your left keep in the right lane, then under the underpass. Go straight on at major lights, keeping on this road for approximately 4 miles to a set of traffic lights with Haymarket railway station on the right. After these lights, turn second left at the next lights into Palmerston Place and then second right into Rothesay Place and The Bonham is 150 metres ahead, facing you.
Driving from the North
Approach Edinburgh on the A90 from The Queensferry Crossing and follow the signs for the City Centre along Queensferry Road. At the Holiday Inn Garden Court Hotel (on the right), take a right fork on the road. Continue straight on at the roundabout through to the next set of traffic lights, and continue as the road bends right. Go over the Dean Bridge and at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Drumsheugh Gardens and right at the gardens. The Hotel is at the end on the right.
Driving from the South
The A1 will bring you right into Edinburgh’s City Centre. Drive along Queen Street continuing until the end, then bearing right down St Colme Street. Turn right after following Randolph Crescent onto Queensferry Street. Turn left onto Drumsheugh Gardens. The Hotel is at the end on the right.
Travelling by tram
Edinburgh now has a very efficient and reliable tram line easily connecting the city centre with Edinburgh’s Airport and its train stations. The airport tram stop is situated right outside the main terminal, next to the plaza and Edinburgh sign. Tram stops can also be found just outside Waverley Station (St. Andrews Square) and right in front of Haymarket train station. We advise our guests to drop off at West End tram stop to reach the hotel swiftly and with ease as it is only a few minutes walk away.
Travelling by Airlink
Travelling to or from the airport could not be easier with Airlink, which provides swift and direct links to Edinburgh City centre with different lines and routes available. All their buses depart from just outside Edinburgh’s Airport main terminal. Tickets for the Airlink 100, taking you straight to the city centre, can be purchased from the driver as you board using contactless card payments or the exact cash change fare. We advise our guests to drop off at Shandwick Place bus stop to reach the hotel swiftly and with ease as it is only a few minutes walk away.
