Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
There is nowhere more special than Abbotsford in the sunshine. One of our lovely couples were lucky enough to bring the weather with them and marry amidst our beautiful tulip festival. Their relaxed and informal day really suited the couple and allowed them to feel like they were getting married in their own home.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't panic! Yes, there are many things to think about, but everything comes together in the end.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I really enjoyed when a Bride and Groom, who were a keen fisherman and golfer, subtly added their hobbies to their wedding. From canapes served with golf balls, to cheese served on a small wooden boat they captured their personalities in their food and decoration.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our beautifully Regency Gardens are very popular with our wedding couples, however, if you are looking for something a little different, our woodlands have breathtaking views over the River Tweed.
What’s your favourite canapé?
All of our canapes are delicious, but my personal favourite has to be roast beef and caramelised onion choux buns.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Once the sun has set on your perfect day, couples love to cozy up next to the roaring fire in our luxury accommodation and have a lovely moment to themselves.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The whole setting is most definitely unique. Sir Walter Scott created a marvel! By having your wedding at Abbotsford, you are tying the knot at one of the most famous houses in the world.

We are most proud of our luxury accommodation and the high standards of our housekeeping team who ensure it is breathtakingly beautiful.
