Dream wedding day
We had a wedding dream day at St Tewdrics house, the team couldn't have done more to help our day run smoothly. The attention to detail was incredible and the setting absolutely stunning. Being wedding photographers ourselves, we have seen many venues and this one is truly top class. Thanks to Carrie and all of the team for working so hard to ensure that all we had to do was smile and enjoy the day. Jodie and Tracey xx

If you are looking for a place that feels like a home from home, then St Tewdrics is the place for you.
St Tewdrics house was everything we could have dreamed of and more! We got married on there on the 20th of August and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day, and that is largely due to this wedding venue. Not only was the day perfect, but the lead up and planning was made so effortless as Charlotte our wedding Co-ordinator took care of everything and nothing was too much trouble. I believe that the venue speaks for its self as it is the perfect balance of historical and modern and for us, we knew the first time we visited that it was where we wanted to say I do. But what really made our day perfect was the staff at st Tewdrics. As mentioned, Charlotte was incredible, and I have to mention Valentine as well, as he was amazing but also, each and every member of staff was so helpful and kind, and one bar staff member even took one of our guests to their hotel after his shift as they were unable to get a taxi. These staff are what I feel makes St Tewdrics stand out from other venues and if you are looking for a place that feels like a home from home, then St Tewdrics is the place for you. Thank you all so much for helping us have the most amazing day xx

An unforgettable day
What can I say?! Stunning venue that blew us and our guests away. The staff are exceptional! Everything from the initial viewing back in 2018, to having two postponed dates and to finally the big day 2 years later than planned, the staff went above and beyond. Carrie, we can't thank you enough! St Tewdrics House will always hold a special place in our hearts ♥️

The most perfect day
St Tewdrics house was absolutely amazing from start to finish! From the moment we drove onto the property we knew it was the place. The team were so loving showing us around and we went back 5 times between the time we booked it and the wedding and showed all our close family. They were so accommodating and didn’t make us feel rushed or pressured to leave at all! We met Charlotte our coordinator and she was amazing! So insightful and helpful, advising us on anything and everything and answers every question. She confirmed all suppliers for us to make sure everything was on track and kept in touch regularly. We booked the venue the night before for ease of mind and Charlotte was there to greet us and go over everything ! We both felt so calm and relaxed which is just what you need the night before your wedding !! The morning of, we let in the make up artist and hairdresser and it was the most calm and perfect morning. While I was blissfully getting ready with my girls, Charlotte coordinated the suppliers and had everything underway, behind the scenes! The whole day was calm, smooth and perfect. Everyone commented on how relaxed it was for a wedding and they throughly enjoyed themselves. My husband and I felt so relaxed with the whole day (minus the obvious nerves!) we had no concerns for the running of the day, all thanks to the St Tewdrics team, and especially Charlotte.

Amazing venue and staff
I can not say enough about how amazing Lauren and the St Tewdrics team are, not only did they make sure we had an fantastic day but nothing was ever to much trouble. Lauren was always on hand and answers any silly questions I sent to her 🙂 All our guests said how great the venue is and what a great day and night then had. Thank you for all you did, from our first visit to see you to you seeing us off as Husband and Wife. Lauren you are the best 😃

Wedding 2.0!
We just celebrated our Wedding 2.0 at St Tewdrics house, 30 months after initially viewing it back in 2019! Due to COVID we had to postpone our wedding celebration with friends and family by just over a year, and tied the knot in April 2021 with close family and friends in City Hall. The staff at St Tewdrics could not have been more understanding, or accommodating during this whole process. Carrie was incredible at answering all our queries, from is there washing up tablets at the house, to can we postpone the big day by a year? She has been so organised and helpful, always getting us even more excited for the big celebration! We had use of the venue from the friday - sunday and had the absolute best weekend (would highly recommend this). The venue is stunning and speaks for itself. The exclusivity means you can really be free to do what you want, we had a garden party on the friday with the bridal party which was so lovely. You really feel like you're staying in the nicest house you ever have with all your close family/friends! On the wedding day itself it could not have run smoother, Carrie unfortunately couldnt make it herself due to COVID, so Lauren stepped in and she was absolutely fantastic, nothing seemed too much, she didn't bother us at all and everything fell into place. The little touches - champagne to hand on exiting the ceremony, getting to try our our canapes after the ceremony in private so we wouldn't miss out on the food, the first look of the wedding breakfast room, it was all so personal and made the day even more memorable! Even though it rained on the day we barely noticed, the house itself is beautiful and the evening reception was the MOST fun we have had, an incredible celebration! We were so sad to have to leave, the whole team made the weekend so incredible, so many guests commenting on how smooth it ran and how beautiful the venue was, and how tasty the Cleverchefs food was! We wish we could do it all over again! Thank you Emma and Luke

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Every wedding that takes place at St Tewdrics House is special in its own way so it would be impossible for us to pick out one as being better than the others. Some of our favourite weddings are the ones where the couple have hired the venue for three days rather than just their wedding day. We love welcoming guests the day before and being part of the pre-wedding excitement and then seeing the celebrations continue the day after the wedding too. There's something really special about extending the celebrations with your nearest and dearest.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make it personal. Your wedding day should be a reflection of you as a couple so we think it's lovely when couples add those little personal touches to make their wedding feel even more special and unique. That could be something as simple as incorporating your favourite colour into your colour scheme, naming your tables after places you have visited together with a photo or story to match each place or putting framed photographs on the mantlepieces in our Reception Rooms to make the venue feel more like your own home. We've even had couples who have created their own wedding scent to spray around the venue as a reminder of the day!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A personal touch that stands out to us is one couple who had the bride's nans toffee tart as their dessert during the wedding breakfast. It was a family tradition that nan made her special toffee tart for every family occasion and the bride didn't want her wedding to be any different. Our fabulous caterers took nan's recipe and recreated the toffee tart. It was such a special touch and was a great talking point amongst guests too.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Exclusive, luxurious, personal, flexible, award-winning.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

There are too many to mention - photographers always comment about how wonderful St Tewdrics House is to photograph! In the summer months, our favourite photo spot has got to be our stunning wildflower meadow which provides the most breathtakingly beautiful backdrop for a wedding. In the winter months, our pergola is a gorgeous place for photos during the day but also at night. Indoors, our feature staircase is always a popular photo spot, especially with the bride's dress flowing beautifully down the stairs.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Tour de France winner, Geraint Thomas, actually owns St Tewdrics House. Geraint and his wife, Sara, were the first couple to hold their wedding reception at St Tewdrics House and our journey of being part of wonderful weddings has continued since then!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our favourite canape is the Italian chicken 99" cornetto - they look like mini 99" cornetto ice creams but they are filled with the most delicious smoked chicken mousse. They are served on sticks which are displayed in a wooden log slice, so they not only taste delicious but have the wow factor when they are served too. Another popular canape with our couples and guests is the sticky honey & grain mustard Gloucester old spot sausage.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

You can't beat a slice of pizza (or two!) after an evening of busting out moves on the dance floor. Pizza is the go to evening food option for most of our couples and is always popular with guests too.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our most unique feature is our seasonal wildflower meadow which surrounds the venue. It flowers from May to August and provides the most stunning backdrop for a summer wedding. We cut paths through it so that our couples and their photographers can wander through and stop in amongst the flowers for a perfect photo. Guests also love exploring through the meadow and seeing where they end up.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our flexibility and transparency - it really is the heart of the business. We pride ourselves on being as flexible as we can and love nothing more than helping our couples to make their wedding truly unique and personal to them. We are also completely up front and transparent about all prices and everything we can offer at St Tewdrics so there won't be any hidden surprises further down the line.
