South Lodge

We had a fantastic experience at South Lodge, from the initial inquiry the team were excellent, making us feel at ease throughout the whole process. Beky, Lizzie, Liz and Amanda really are credits to the venue, nothing was too much for them. They also provided us with Toastmaster Dan who we couldn't have coped without on the day. We would highly recommend to anyone.

We got married at South lodge December 2023 and it did not disappoint! We had stayed at south lodge years ago for a special birthday and loved it, so when we were looking at venues we decided we had to take a look. I also looked at pictures of south lodge at Christmas as we had always liked the idea of a winter wedding and it looked incredible! We met the lovely Beky, who later became our wedding co-ordinator, and just pretty much fell in love with South Lodge and the team there who made us feel very special from day one. We met with Beky several times over the months and nothing was ever too much trouble and no request or question too ridiculous!! She had plenty of advice and suggestions too which I really, really appreciated. We did use some of their approved suppliers and they were fabulous and very experienced in working at South Lodge. All of this made it much less stressful and I felt very reassured. The events team as a whole are so so lovely and professional and just want you to have the best day and that really does show, Elizabeth, Amanda, Emily, Charlie, Sophie and the amazing Dan. They smile all day and work really hard! The day itself was amazing, everything went really well thanks to Beky and the team, words can't describe how much we enjoyed it and how much fun we had - I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!!! Food was delicious, drinks flowed and all of our guests said what a fantastic day it was and what a great hotel South lodge is! Im so glad we got married here and would not hesitate to recommend South Lodge if you are thinking of getting married and if you want a winter wedding it looks incredible, roaring fires and Christmas trees everywhere! I can honestly say that South Lodge exceeded all our expectations as a wedding venue. It provided the perfect backdrop for a love-filled celebration, and every detail was executed with precision and care. Our guests, especially those staying overnight and using the first class Spa facilities, couldn’t thank us enough for picking such a beautiful venue. Jamie and her team ensured we had a perfect day. Beky and her team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had people changing their meat for dinner on the day, and south lodge took everything in their stride. They organised our special day and helped us every step of the way. They made our day so perfect and we cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us on our wedding day and the lead up to our wedding.

We had the most wonderful wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for anything more regarding any detail… it was perfect. Even the endless rain did not impact in the slightest. The team were just brilliant…. Everything ran seamless throughout the whole day and the food was amazing. The team that looked after us were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We cannot fault anything at all and are so so happy that we chose to get married at south lodge.

YES! Our day at South Lodge was absolutely perfect including all the time leading up to the big event. When I was reading the reviews about South Lodge I was sceptical as I could not believe that every single couple had a perfect experience there. But here I am, writing a 5 stars review. Our coordinator, Beky, was exceptional throughout and made us feel welcomed, respected and special. Even with me being sceptical at the start, she won us over and soon we felt at home. The attention to details and professionalism are next to none - they all definitely know what they are doing - the service, the décor, the personalised touches - it was all perfect. We enjoyed all the events before the wedding - the showcase, tasting event, vineyard tour as well as SPA days. The day itself couldn't be better - the staff were always one step ahead of us and we had nothing to worry about. All our friends and family had a fantastic time and said that this his how weddings should be done. We added some personal touches with our dog as a ring bearer, confetti cannons and sparklers - nothing was too much trouble. And the food? It was like eating at a Michelin star restaurant. We cannot express our gratitude enough and South Lodge will always be a special place for us. THANK YOU to all the team - you are wonderful!
