Our wedding at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle was truly magical, and we couldn't be more appreciative of the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the hotel's stylish interior design. The mix of elegance and comfort created a warm, sophisticated setting that was perfect for our celebration. The staff at Slieve Donard were simply outstanding. Their exemplary standards shone through every step of the way, going above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They made us feel completely at home, and their attention to detail allowed us to enjoy each moment without a worry. Every transition between parts of the ceremony and reception was seamless, thanks to the team’s dedication and attentiveness. The food was fantastic – each dish was as beautiful as it was delicious, and our guests haven’t stopped raving about it! The mini desserts were a huge hit, adding a touch of charm and flavor that was the perfect end to the meal. Special thanks go to our organizers, John and Siobhan, and the rest of the coordinating team. John’s light-hearted humor made us feel so comfortable, keeping the atmosphere at the meetings relaxed and fun. Siobhan and the team were lifesavers, helping us stay organized and ensuring every detail was in place. We couldn’t have asked for a more supportive group. Looking back, it truly was the quickest day of our lives. Everything passed by in a beautiful blur, but we’re so grateful for every memory created at Slieve Donard. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that will exceed your every expectation and leave you with memories to cherish forever, Slieve Donard is the place. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect setting or a more dedicated team to bring our dream day to life!

As a wedding photographer I am extremely lucky to get to some of the best wedding venues in the country and the Slieve Donard is most definitely one of my favourite spots to get to. As a wedding supplier I am always looked after at the Slieve Donard extremely well, making sure I am fed and watered throughout each wedding I photograph there. Every member of staff is very friendly and nothing is a problem for them when asked. I didn't think that the hotel could get any better than it already was when it closed for refurbishment and wow, it is absolutely stunning!! Every room is unreal! And what about the view out the front looking at the Mournes, amazing! Keep up the brilliant work and I would honestly be happy to shoot weddings in the Slieve Donard every week!

Great event staff and they made our wedding stress free and the most memorable day. Big shout out to John and Niamh. John was the best from the time we booked our wedding to the day it’s self. Wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Everything about the venue, staff and wedding were absolutely perfect! There is nowhere else on earth we would rather have spent our big day. Every detail from start to finish was world class. We had so many guests telling us they’d never been to a nicer wedding or a nicer venue. We will be lifelong visitors at the Slieve Donard and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Absolute perfection. John and Lauren were absolutely amazing. We can’t praise either of them highly enough.

We cannot thank you enough for absolutely everything you have done in the lead up for the last 3 years of planning. We have no doubt we picked the perfect venue and you went above and beyond. We are forever grateful and will keep in touch and visit regularly.

Unbelievable experience with Niamh and John Comerton. We were very grateful to how they both dealt with the recent death we had in the family and were extremely sensitive. Niamh was unbelievable really helped to manage the stress.

We couldn't have been more delighted with our experience of having our wedding at the Slieve Donard. The staff were exceptional, so warm and friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us and our guests. The food was beautiful and we felt it was all good value for money. Thanks so much! Lauren was just brilliant, We felt we could rely on her completely which took a huge amount of stress out of the day. Niamh who we met the evening before who was also fantastic!

We got married at the Slieve Donard on 17th of September 2023 and honestly, we had the best experience. From viewing the hotel to the morning after our wedding, your team could not have been better or more supportive. John was amazing during the booking, planning, and organising. Niamh was incredible in the days before and day of the wedding. From the time we arrived on the Saturday until leaving on the Monday afternoon we felt like the two most important people in the world.

Thank you for a fantastic wedding day. The hotel is beautiful. The food was first class and the service too. The honeymoon suite was amazing. Nothing was no trouble. We were treated like a king and queen. Thank you so much 😊 wish we could have our wedding day all over again. John and Niamh were fantastic brilliant to work with!!
