Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
The best weddings are those where the personalities for the couple shine through every aspect of the day. From table names, to personalise gifts. Quirky touches that work with the venue always look great and are so memorable to friends and family.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get the suppliers that can't be in two places at once booked first so you don't miss out. For example venue, caterer, photographer, videographer.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love it when couples get their photographer to get a picture of them padlocking their personalised copper leaf to our steel trees. It lovely to remember their reactions when leaving a everlasting part of them at the Barn.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, rustic, friendly, quirky and romantic.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
As the sunsets behind the barn it creates a really dramatic sky and beautiful romantic photo opportunity.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not yet, but that would be exciting!
What’s your favourite canapé?
My favourite canapés is a simple honey and mustard glazed mini sausages. Not very glam but sometimes you can't beat the basics.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
It makes me chuckle when guests grab a last handful of sweets of a cart before diving into a taxi! For me, after a long shift, its either a cup of tea or a large red.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The breathtaking high beams in the barn and all the unique attention to details, such as the rustic bent spanner door handles.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
I am proud of it all. We have worked very hard to not only run the business but the design and build of the whole barn itself. Its amazing to know we get to share in the special day of so many couples in something our family has created.
