Full Description
Our family-run venue, currently open from May to October, is set within 60 acres of rolling countryside in the heart of rural North Yorkshire. We have two interlinked wedding barns, one of which is romantically rustic & the other which is stunningly industrial in style.
The Celebration Barn has a terraced area accessed by glass sliding doors which overlooks breath-taking views of the Yorkshire Dales. There is also a rustic indoor chill-out space & several stunning backdrops for photographs. We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies & there are several indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from.
It is a blank canvas venue giving you the flexibility to theme your wedding as you wish & spend as little or as much on the things which are important to you.
Two nights luxury en-suite glamping accommodation with private hot tubs for up to 45 guests is included in the price. There is also a 'getting ready' area with facilities for hair and make-up as well as luxury accommodation and private hot tub for up to four members of the bridal party pre-wedding. This will then be used by the wedding couple as their romantic honeymoon suite with king-size bed and roll top bath.
We have a wealth of recommended local suppliers to choose from and one of our experienced inhouse wedding planner will be on hand to coordinate your wedding day as part of the package.
For the all-important wedding breakfast we have teamed up with some local caterers who have been tried, tested and thoroughly recommended! They can supply anything from relaxed, rustic sharing platters to formal silver service dining......anything is possible. If you would rather use your own caterer then that's no problem either.
With exclusive use of the venue and luxury accommodation along with plenty of wide, open spaces this is Yorkshire at its best!

Truly Incredible
We got married at Sedgewell Barn in July and it was truly incredible from the moment we booked. We had the venue and wigwams for the entire weekend and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make sure we had the most perfect weekend and wedding day. The venue is a great size for all weddings - big or small! The recommended suppliers were fantastic and the day went without a hitch. What a beautiful venue!!
We had our wedding party at Sedgewell Barn in June and we could not have picked a more beautiful venue to celebrate in!! The barn itself is spectacular, but still a blank canvas to really put your own stamp on your wedding and make it personal to you. The surrounding Yorkshire countryside is glorious and the views from the barn are spectacular. So many of our guests commented on what a beautiful venue we had chosen! From the minute we came to view Sedgewell, Catherine, Stuart and Louise have been amazing and they couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The newly built bridal suite is beautiful and the perfect place to get ready. The glamping pods meant that all of our closet family and friends could stay onsite which made it feel more like an entire weekend celebration! Pedro the confetti pony and Mr Fuzzy Face the sheep were the icing on the cake and we loved having them involved in the day and for the photos! We cannot recommend Sedgewell Barn highly enough, we want to do it all over again please!! Thank you to all of you at Sedgewell who helped to make our day so incredibly special.

Sedgewell Barn was undoubtedly our dream wedding venue
Sedgewell Barn was undoubtedly our dream wedding venue, which we instantly fell in love with when we were shown around, and we booked immediately! The barns are set against the beautiful rolling hills of North Yorkshire which make a gorgeous setting for our wedding photos.
One thing that we loved about the venue is that you are able to completely decorate it yourself and completely customise all aspects to your theme and personality. We had a September wedding, so we decorated both inside and outside the barns in an autumnal rustic style.
We had 60 wedding guests, so we had our ceremony in the cosy rustic barn, and had our wedding breakfast and evening entertainment in the celebration barn. One thing that also instantly attracted us to the venue was that there are numerous places for guests to spread out, including a byre barn where we set up the bar, which has a lovely seating area so guests are able to relax away from the main area if they require.
The whole team at Sedgewell Barn were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Catherine was incredible from day one and made us feel very special, and Ellen did an amazing job at coordinating all our suppliers, helping the day run smoothly, and making us feel at ease.
We had so many compliments about the venue from our guests, and Sedgewell Barn definitely made our dream wedding become a reality.

The wedding day was absolutely perfect for us, and we really did have our dream venue.
