River Cottage HQ

We are so delighted to have had our wedding at River Cottage HQ. Being foodies and trying to live sustainably, the ethos and spirit of RCHQ was a perfect match for our big day. Lucy was a fantastic wedding organiser, both in the 18th month lead up to the day and on the weekend itself. She kept us calm and collected, made the wedding breakfast barn look beautiful and everything ran perfectly. Although most of our friends and family are not vegetarian, we decided to go for that option so that everyone was united through the food they ate, too. Gelf and Connor, the Culinary Director and Head Chef, created a fantastic menu for us and every single person has raved to us about the quality of the food. We woke up the day after the wedding having had the perfect day and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We would absolutely recommend the venue to couples who want to celebrate their marriage in an intimate, beautiful, sophisticated and relaxed venue. Thank you to the RCHQ team - we can't wait to visit again, hopefully for an anniversary celebration!

From the moment we visited River Cottage we knew it would be the perfect place the get married! Throughout the whole planning process, everything was simple and straightforward and Lucy, the wedding coordinator, was fantastic! Every tiny detail was organised perfectly, the atmosphere on the day was so relaxed and fun, and all the staff were so attentive and helpful through all of it. Even as a stressed bride when I arrived the day before to set up, Lucy took everything off my hands so I could enjoy every minute of our wedding. And the food was incredible! The love and care that goes into the menu, the food, the planning, the day itself and everything is so evident, and very much appreciated. We wish we could do it all over again!

At River Cottage, our wedding day was perfect. My husband and I woke up the next day on cloud nine and we both agreed it really could not have been any more perfect. This was all down to Lucy, the coordinator, and the whole team! Everyone we spoke to on the day was so kind and friendly and it felt like they were really happy to help. The team at the bar were fantastic, especially with some of the guests who loved a tequila or two! From day one of planning our wedding, the team responded so quickly to all of our millions of questions, none of which seemed to phase them, and everything we had asked for was just simply done! They knew what to do to make it an incredible day! Our day felt unique to us, but the team were so well organised you could tell they'd had done this many times before, but taking just as much care each time. Every guest said how incredible the food was, and we knew it would be, but we didn't imagine how good it would be! One of our suppliers had forgotten to send specific vegan truffles we had asked for as wedding favours, but when I told River Cottage this, the day before the wedding, they had made hand-made truffles for our vegan guests! We didn't expect that or even ask that, they just did it and it was the little things like that which made it so perfect. All day we both felt at complete ease and most importantly we both felt like we trusted the team to get everything right and they did, and more! So really we can't thank them enough as we both have the most wonderful memories of a lifetime! And our guests do too, my sister said that was the best wedding she has ever been to!
