Describe the best wedding that happened at Purton House?
Harriet and Matthew wanted to have a wedding to remember set in our romantic grounds. They had the ceremony in the rose temple, drinks in the garden followed by a feast nestled amoung the pear trees in the orchard, and dancing in the garden!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
While the destination is important (your wedding day), try and enjoy the journey :)
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
That's very difficult, so I'll have to name a few... the order of the day hand-painted onto a pallet, a wheel-barrow full of flowers on the portico, wooden hearts for guests to write messages which are then slotted into a picture to make a picture frame guest book, wine glasses engraved with the name of the guest. Oh, and a sweet station for the kids!!

Where’s the best photo spot at Purton House?
There are too many to choose from again! There are a myriad of beautiful spots outside, but one of my favourite inside shots would be the dining room. I love it when the table layout is one long table (seats 32). When you stand at the end of the room and look all the way down the table, with the large window over-looking lawn and lake at the end, it's just splendid.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Purton House?
No.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mini toad in the holes... yum!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Ibby's homemade chocolates (another family venture)
What is Purton House most unique feature?
It's authenticity - not every part of the grounds are perfect (we can't use pesticides as we're organic), and some of the trimmings on the chairs are loose as they're 150 years old! Our staff feel like part of the family, and the family are a part of the business... we're a fun and friendly lot, and we hope that you can tell when you visit!
That and the fact that Purton House is Georgian with a touch of Regency - think Georgian lines and big impact, with touches of decorative elegance, such as the stunning bay window in the ceremony room.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
That it was my late Mother-in-Law's vision to run weddings at the house, and I helped her set up the first website back in 2010.
