Venue Hire Only

Prices Start At
Maximum Price
The pricing above is based on booking our entire site - at the lower end would be for example a three night booking in April and at the highest end would be a week-long booking in the school summer holidays. For this we include venue hire on an exclusive basis, the use of our 7 holiday cottages which sleep up to 56 people in 28 rooms (some single, some twin, some double, some family), and use of the facilities including an indoor pool, tennis court, play area and woodland (and animals). Most importantly this includes our flat field which has power and water where you can erect your marquee. The well equipped cottages are fully supplied with linen and towels. If you want to pass on the accommodation cost to your guests or some of them, we can work with you on dealing with that. This can make Pitt Farm a very cost effective wedding venue if you expect to have many guests needing overnight accommodation for a couple of days (the minimum hire is three days).

Full Description
We love to host weddings at Pitt Farm. We don’t do many, and this is because our core business is a holiday cottage complex. However, we have the facilities that really suit a marquee style wedding particularly where you have guests coming from far and wide. We can offer the space and flexibility for you to plan your wedding to suit you and plenty of on-site accommodation. Our facilities would of course be available throughout this time for the use of you and your guests (indoor pool, games room, play room, tennis court etc). We have lovely grounds and an ideal spot for a marquee with power and water on site - ready for your caterers / marquee company to operate as you want. There’s parking on site for around 15 / 20 cars – although some would need to be boxed in. As a guide the size of marquee we can accommodate would suit around 100 to 120 guests. The way we work is you need to book the entire holiday cottage complex for at least three nights (or seven nights (Friday-Friday) during school holidays). This gives you seven cottages with 28 bedrooms and enough bed spaces for 56 people with cots on top. It also enables you to have an extended celebration rather than just an afternoon and evening. The cost of this depends on the time of year – there is also a charge for use of the marquee field for the marquee and use of power and water. Once the dates are blocked out for the wedding we can deal with bookings for cottages made by your guests directly if you prefer (i.e. so that your guests pay some or all of their accommodation costs themselves). Our website shows some photos of our grounds and our cottages - but ideally we would love to speak to you to talk through your plans to see if our venue suits what you’re looking for. Our cottages vary in size and we don't have a "honeymoon suite" as such, but our smallest cottage Cavasson sleeps 2 and is the perfect place for a bride and groom to escape to...

We are not your standard wedding venue, but who wants a standard wedding? We have a lovely setting for you to create something truly magical. We can work with you to ensure that everything is just how you want it, and rather than a day... you have a weekend (or even a week) to enjoy the wonderful setting with your friends and family. The fact that people can stay on site means that we can be truly flexible about how your day / weekend / week will work - let's talk!

Wonderful spacious accommodation in quiet location
We've just come back from a wonderful week staying in the very spacious Martingale at Pitt Farm. It is the best equipped accommodation I have ever stayed in with everything you could possibly need. The beds are really comfortable and the linen is luxurious. We all enjoyed the indoor pool, tennis court, table tennis & football table and getting to help feed the pigs, alpacas and chickens was a highlight of our stay.

Bride and Groom review
We hired the whole of Pitt Farm for our wedding. I cannot recommend Pitt Farm highly enough. The location is stunning, the cottages amazing, well stocked & super clean.

The cottages were beautify equipped and comfortable tennis courts heated swimming pool and lots more. I couldn't recommend Pitt farm for a wedding or family function more highly. The owners are lovely very helpful what a wonderful place well done to you both

What a perfect location!
We stayed at Pitt Farm in the week prior to my daughter's wedding, and used all the cottages over the weekend of the wedding. What a perfect location. Pelham was the focus for all family gatherings, planning and preparations. Such fun

Exceeded all exceptions!
Pitt Farm is ideal for any size of party (ours was 55 people!), and there is enough room for everyone to relax, have their own space if they need it, and have fun together. Accommodation is very comfortable - it's not 5 star luxury but it doesn't pretend to be; if you want that, you can find it elsewhere. What it is, is relaxing and homely, and you will receive a massive warm welcome. All cottages are done to a very high standard. In addition, the on site facilities are great - tennis courts, swimming pool, well equipped games room (with table tennis and a pool table) and a children's play area too, not to mention the animals...

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Every wedding is special...you can't choose a favourite. Of course we like to think that the next one will be the best ever!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

A wedding is a party. Remember its fun - do think about the detail but don't let the detail rule your world.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

David and Victoria's his and hers thrones / Anthea and Grant's snowflake chocolate bars...were a close second and third, but perhaps the bride that loved baking and made her own cake (it looked amazing!)

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Scenic, Special, Surprising, Secluded all in lovely South Devon!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

There are so many - up in the woodland which creates a lovely dappled light, by the ponds at sunset (it turns the water orange), in with the piglets / chickens / alpacas, on the stepping stones (dress dependent!), in the orchard in late summer or early spring...

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We couldn't possibly comment.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Its a close one between sausage blinis (with local sausages of course), crab tacos (we are not far from some great crabbing spots).

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

You can't beat a Pitt Farm sausage baguette....

What is your venue's most unique feature?

It's a really tranquil special place - the cottages mean that you and your guests share a mini break over the wedding weekend / week - they'll feel like they've been on holiday - we have an indoor pool, tennis, table football, a playground, animal feeding, a woodland and are no more than 15 mins from some world class beaches.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We feel an enormous sense of pride when families book to stay with us year after year. We regularly host birthday and family get togethers in multiple cottages. When people come back, we know we are doing something right.
