We were looking for a venue for our wedding and we found Neidpath Castle online. We thought the place looked lovely so booked an initial chat. Ian gave us a video tour of the castle then we booked an in person viewing. When we saw the castle and all the places inside that you can explore we fell in love with the venue. It was a bit out of our price range at the time so we delayed the wedding for another year to give us more time to pay it which was fine. We were then put in touch with Rachel who helped us plan the whole day and how everything would work. Unfortunately during the two years between booking and the actual wedding day, some wedding guests had changes in their health which impacted their mobility. Neidpath did everything they could to adapt for us and make it easier on our guests. When we arrived the evening before our wedding, the owner met us and we talked about last minute arrangements then she left and we had the castle to ourselves which was a lot of fun. We chilled out with my parents in the Barmkin for a bit which is absolutely gorgeous. They put a ramp on the stairs for us but unfortunately this didn't feel right for the guests that needed it as it didn't have a rail, the stairs with some crutches felt safer, but the team were happy to remove it again. At night we slept in the bedroom at the top of the castle, the bed was very comfortable and there were bottles of water with glasses left for us. I had a bath at night and the bath is so deep, it's amazing. In the morning we had breakfast from the massive hamper they left us. There's also a coffee machine but we couldn't figure out how to make it hot so we used the kettle to top it up. During the day we had an event manager running around sorting things out which was very helpful. In the morning we got up early to pack all our stuff up to find it had already been done for us! What we loved was the castle is so beautiful we did not have to decorate, we got a lovely candle package from the venue. Our experience with Neidpath Castle was absolutely amazing from the start. Communication was fantastic and they're really flexible. All our guests said the place was gorgeous and enjoyed exploring.
