From the very first conversation right through to the end of our wedding day, the team were absolutely incredible. We initially got in touch after our original wedding venue unexpectedly closed down, leaving us with just 18 months to find somewhere else. At first, I didn't think it would be a problem, but after looking around and finding that venues either weren't what we wanted or didn't have our date available, I started to panic. Richard reached out to me through the Essex Weddings Facebook page and encouraged me to get in touch with the team. From that moment on, everything changed. They were so kind, supportive and reassuring. They even matched the quote from our original venue and did everything they possibly could to make sure we still had the wedding we'd always envisioned. They also gave us a seven-day buffer to take our time, look at a few other venues and make the decision without feeling pressured. That level of understanding meant so much to us. Throughout the entire planning process, the team were exceptional. They were organised, responsive and always happy to answer every question I had. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and I genuinely felt supported every step of the way. They took so much stress away, allowing us to actually enjoy planning our wedding. One thing we absolutely loved was the tasting evening in January. It was such a lovely experience and made us even more excited for the big day. The food was incredible, and we knew our guests were in for a treat. On the wedding day itself, everything ran so smoothly. Jo was amazing, always checking in and making sure everything was exactly as it should be. If there were any issues behind the scenes, we never knew about them because everything was handled so professionally. We were able to relax, be present and enjoy every single moment of our day without worrying about a thing. Our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and more, and that is all thanks to the incredible team. We honestly cannot thank you enough for your kindness, professionalism and dedication. You turned what started as a really stressful situation into the most perfect day of our lives. What is the maximum guest capacity for weddings at Mulberry House?
Mulberry House is licensed for Civil Ceremonies with up to 150 guests. For wedding receptions, you can choose between two locations: The Copper Room, seating between 40 to 130 guests, and the Marquee, which also seats up to 150 guests comfortably. Fore your evening reception, we can host up to 200 guests!
Does Mulberry House offer indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies?
Yes, Mulberry House offers a variety of locations for your ceremony including:
- The Oak Room with elegant chandeliers and exposed beams for an indoor reception.
- A beautifully draped Marquee with floor-to-ceiling white drapes and a private decking terrace.
- An outdoor lake view Gazebo, with our beautiful Georgian House in the background.
- An Outdoor Woodland Ceremony nestled within the Mulberry House nature

Mulberry House includes hotel accommodation tailored for wedding parties. We provide a range of bedrooms suited to different sizes of wedding parties, including the complimentary Honeymoon Suite named Tresco for the bride and groom on the wedding night. We have 25 bedrooms on site in total which at our maximum capacity can sleep up to 55.
