Megginch Castle Weddings Full Description
Enfolded by the peace of this rural oasis with sheep and horses grazing quietly in the ancient parkland, the Ballroom looks out to one side over the 18th century cobbled gothic courtyard, with its unique pagoda doocot, and to the other over the formal Castle gardens where the Camelia House allows the perfect romantic and beautiful setting for your ceremony – with just the sound of the fountains and birdsong outside. For religious ceremonies, there is the charming small secluded family chapel in the wooded grounds, where the current generation of the family was married. Or on sunny days some may want to venture out amongst the gnarled old apple and pear trees in the heritage orchard to take their vows – or perhaps overlooking the Tea Plantation within the ancient walls of the kitchen garden. But as the sun goes down everything changes! With the Castle’s west façade and courtyard glowing gently in the background, Let the Party Begin! Turn on the music, the latest in LED lighting, and truly celebrate your most special day! Please contact us if you would like your wedding ceremony to become part of the history of this magical Castle of Dreams.

"It's the perfect place to get married"
Megginch Castle is a unique setting like no other in Perthshire and we booked up after a few days of visiting. Jan (the wedding planner) and Giles were meticulous with all the details to ensure a smooth running order and accommodating for our requests. The grounds were maintained to a high standard, the ballroom is the perfect size for a sit down meal and loads of space for the afterparty. We would highly recommend Megginch castle - its the prefect place to get married.

Photo opportunities were endless - perfect wedding
We had the most perfect wedding at Megginch Castle, we had our ceremony on the lawn and our guests absolutely loved the backdrop. The bridal suite was spacious and had everything we needed, with plenty of room for all the bridesmaids to get ready. The location was perfect for guests, coming from all over Scotland and further afield! The photo opportunities were endless and having our first look in the rose garden was magical. Thank you Giles, Catherine and Jan the for a wonderful weekend

"The wedding day was amazing"
Megginch is a fantastic place for a wedding venue. My daughter and son-in-law had there wedding there and were also the first couple to get married at megginch. The wedding day was amazing and all the guests had a lovely day all saying how wonderful the food entertainment and the atmosphere was on the day. Thank you megginch for organising such a memorable day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Describe the best wedding that happened at Megginch Castle Weddings ?

Our own wedding! Very romantic with a completely unique family castle as a backdrop. It made us realise that others may like to share their wedding vows here so we began extensive refurbishment of the ballroom in 2020 to make your day a truly 5 star experience. We have at last finished meaning that unlike most venues we still have some availability later in 2023 (including Saturdays).

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make sure you have a good wedding planner to help you. We have Jan who has organised scores of luxury weddings in this area over the last 10 years and will ensure your day goes smoothy from start to finish...

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A bride using our holly avenue as her aisle with a piper leading her down towards the guests and the ceremony

Describe Megginch Castle Weddings in 5 adjectives

Romantic, unique, luxurious, rustic, fun.

Where’s the best photo spot at Megginch Castle Weddings ?

The castle as a backdrop from the ponds in the formal garden. Standing on the balcony of the castle looking out over the Victorian formal garden and ponds. Coming down the castle's tartan clad spiral staircase Next to the small rustic chapel in the woods In the ancient orchard with the castle as a backdrop. In the walled garden - maybe next to our new tea planation? The options go on and on!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Megginch Castle Weddings ?

Yes! Will tell you who when you come over!

What is Megginch Castle Weddings most unique feature?

The castle itself - with the endless photo opportunities in the extensive surrounding grounds

What part of your business are you most proud of?

I think probably the way we have mixed the old with the new... Whilst the castle is from the 15th century and the gothic courtyard has some of the first ever bricks used in Scotland, we have installed the very latest LED lighting technology in the ballroom and the ladies' loo takes luxury to a new level!
