When we met the staff, all our worries melted away

We chose the Lord Haldon because it had the right feel and the right people – it felt like an extension of our home and the team are so organised and helpful, it felt like getting our own super expensive wedding planner as part of the deal. We wanted a rustic feel and what we loved about the function room was the fact it would lend itself to any style of theme. It’s a gorgeous room and the views are stunning. The whole day felt very relaxed, informal and intimate.

Went to a wedding. Reception was in the hotel too. Then we chatted in the garden. Lovely and laid back. Parking convenient. Service great. Staff polite. I was very impressed. Oh, and the views fabulous!!! We didn't stay the night (being local) so cannot comment on the rooms.

Travel Notes

If approaching from Exeter, make sure to come through the village of Ide to avoid narrow roads. If coming from the south, exit the A38 at Haldon Forest and continue on the same road until you reach Dunchideock. Do not turn right towards Clapham (as usually suggested by GPS) to avoid narrow laneways.
