The Lion and Swan, recently refurbished, is a family run traditional coaching Inn in Congleton. Assuring you of a warm welcome, we invite you to experience a delightful 16th Century ambience with 21st Century style, comfort and convenience. Offering only high quality food made from the finest local ingredients, a discerning wine list and good cask ales, you can relax in total elegance and comfort. Our 21 boutique rooms have been fully refurbished in a contemporary yet sympathetic style, every room exudes historic charm whilst enabling you to luxuriate in up-to-the-minute comforts and modern conveniences. We have 4 licensed areas within our fabulous building, ranging from intimate to grand, and we are confident that at least one of them is perfect for your special day!

From check-in to check-out, this was a superb stay
From check-in to check-out this was a superb one-night stay. The decor throughout the prop oozes class, and is complemented by the wonderful staff and food. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the in-house Italian restaurant Leone, which was an outstanding experience, breakfast the next morning in the main hotel was at the same level. Well done to everyone at the property, you can tell they are very passionate about what they do. Would definitely recommend and will stay

We don't usually write reviews.
Don’t usually write reviews but we enjoyed our recent 2 day stay so much, I feel others need to know. The staff are the friendliest I have ever encountered at any hotel and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Our room was very lovely, comfortable, clean and modern, and the shower in the beautiful en-suit was amazing. We booked the hotel as we were attending a wedding close by but will certainly visit again, just because.

A massive Thank you
Just to say a massive thank you for yesterday. Everyone I have spoken to said what a lovely afternoon they have at The Lion & Swan. The staff were very kind, polite and friendly. Great night stay.
Amazing experience. Upon arrival the receptionist quickly checked is in. We arrived in the room which was a large room with excellent amenities. Amazing shower and extremely comfortable beds Breakfast was 5 star.. a definite revisit.

Golden Wedding Anniversary
Excellent hotel booked without any prior knowledge of the place and it was for a surprise golden wedding anniversary, so pleased I took the risk could not have been better from the minute we arrived to the second we left. All the staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly, nothing to much trouble and in particular Macey who made us feel so welcome and interested in our stay.
