Home to the 19th Earl & Countess of Derby, the Knowsley estate is totally private and exclusively yours to relax and enjoy your wedding day with family and friends. With regal interiors, you will most certainly be celebrating in grand style! Exchange your vows in the Stucco Ballroom with its beautiful gold encrusted detail on the walls and ceiling which oozes romance and has a capacity of up to 132 guests. Enjoy drinks and canapes on the terrace overlooking the beautiful manicured gardens and lake or within the cosy and luxurious surroundings of the Walnut Drawing Room with a roaring open fire for winter weddings. For your wedding breakfast, our talented in-house team of chefs will deliver a sumptuous 3-course meal for you to feast on in the grandeur of the State Dining Room while our dedicated events team will ensure that everything runs seamlessly. You will have the opportunity to stay over in the house in one of our 17 luxury bedrooms that are reserved just for you and your guests. All our accommodation has been individually designed by The Countess of Derby and maintained to a high standard by our team of dedicated Housekeepers, so expect country house chic with amazing views of the 2,500 private estate. Seeing the Hall in all its glory was magical
As soon as me and my partner drove through the gates and along the winding driveway I knew we had found our wedding venue. Turning the corner and seeing the hall in all its glory was simply magical and stepping through the doors confirmed this was the one place I could see myself getting married. We had the perfect wedding from start to finish! From the off the communication from the team - especially Niall and Jason were exceptional. Any question big or small was answered promptly and I knew that our wedding was in safe hands. On the day itself, I didn't have to think about anything as everything was taken care of and we could relax and enjoy our big day without any worry. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best day and we are so thankful. Our guests all commented on how amazing the venue was and many of them said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. The food was exceptional with everyone raving about the wedding breakfast and evening platters. It was truly the perfect day!

A breath-taking place to get married!
The building is opulent and has lots of beautiful detail. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to our requests and it was overall a breath-taking place to get married! The chef was also amazing when we attended our food tasting. He explained each dish in detail and answered any questions that we had. It was extremely difficult to pick our menu because all the food we tasted was so delicious!! Jason/Matt (along with other members of staff) made us feel very at ease about our special day from the minute the bridal party arrived to the day we left the venue, and they updated us at every point throughout the day. They made amendments to any special requests that we made to make our day perfect. The food was absolutely delicious - I don't think we will ever eat belly pork or beef cheek like it ever again! There were so many compliments floating around the room about the food - even to this day, we still have conversations with the guests about how unbelievable the food was. The staff serving the food and drinks were prompt and polite to all guests, including any that may have been difficult with their requests. Overall, the day couldn't have been any more perfect. Some of the guests even said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We are so lucky and grateful that we were able to have our special day at such a spectacular venue. I can't put in to words how remarkable it was and ourselves (and the guests) will remember it for the rest of lives.

Breath-taking, Sensational, Stunning.
The Drive into the Knowsley Estate was incredible. the grounds and the main building are maintained to the highest standard. One of the reasons for us making the choice to book our wedding with the team at Knowsley. From the moment my wife met Jason, he took all her fears and stress off her shoulders and dealt with every single question, query and demand she had. We had been to 20+ venues and nobody clicked or made her feel as comfortable with her dream wedding, Jason made her feel so reassured. He is a credit to Knowsley Hall, many of our friends have married the past 3 years and none of their wedding co-ordinators have come close to Jason. Throughout the day we where Blown away by the attentiveness of the Team, Dan and Adam where simply incredible, they really took care of us and nothing was a problem to them. We even had a hiccup with the food as there was a swap with two guests the day before, we told Adam literally an hour before the food was served and the problem was fix. The day couldn't have gone any smoother. not one single hiccup or problem occurred, the whole day was perfect. The Team - Jason, Dan and Adam. These three single handed took care of us from the minute we got to the venue, from drinks, to ushering us about to have time to ourselves! The standard from all was just so high, especially Jason who runs the team like clockwork. The food just shone out for us, we still have guests now mentioned the beef from our main! The servers on the day during the wedding breakfast were fab, always around and serving as quick as they could. The night porter was fabulous! My mum was up super early trying to find a missing jacket and he was right there to get her a cuppa tea even if it was 5am. Huge shout to him, took care of us early risers. The Grounds played a huge part of our wedding and the standards of the garden really blew our guests away, every corner of the grounds is a photo opportunity.

My first impression of Knowsley hall was WOW!!!
My first impression of Knowsley hall was wow…WHAT A VENUE! I fell in love as soon as we pulled through to the gates and then turned right onto the drive. The estate, the grounds and the staff were everything you could wish for when looking for a perfect wedding venue. As everyone knows the venue at Knowsley Hall is beautiful but I think what really makes it such a wonderful venue is the staff that are working there. I can’t count the amount of times me (or my mum!) phone called Niall, Jason and Emma on the run up to the big day and nothing was ever too much trouble, they were always so happy to help. On the day of the wedding they really made us both feel special, I can’t tell you how much they did for us. Even before I walked down the aisle a staff member could see I was getting emotional and handed me a tissue it was just what I needed as I didn’t want my make up running!! But this is just a great example of how on hand they are. We have been with our wedding co ordination Jason right from the beginning and I can’t tell you how many times we went to open evenings, open days and even the picnic at Knowsley, he always had time to speak to us. Me and Dylan were so happy Jason was there with us on our big day as we really felt like he understood us as a couple and also as a family. We honestly can’t thank Knowsley Hall enough for everything they did for us there is too many highlights and I find it hard just picking a few! I just hope they know that we really did appreciate everything they did for us on our special day.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

When Gary Barlow from the band Take That made a surprise guest appearance and sang to one of our Brides at her wedding reception! We had to keep it top secret but it was worth it seeing the look on the Brides face!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Compile a folder with all your information so you can keep a log of everything you have planned for your special day. This will definitely take away some of the stress so you can enjoy the run up to your wedding day.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

When a Bride tore her dress just before the ceremony and a member of staff immediately came to her rescue and helped mend her dress for her.

Across the lake capturing the couple and the backdrop of the Hall, this is definitely one to take pride of place on the wall at home.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Lots of celebrities have visited Knowsley Hall from HM The Queen, Bill Clinton, Mo Farah, Cliff Richard, Jurgen Klopp, Kenny Dalglish, Julian Fellowes and David Attenborough to name but a few!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our food is made in-house by our team of expert Chefs and dishes are personally tasted and approved by The Earl & Countess of Derby before inclusion in our menus . My personal favourite is the Manchego & corn croquettes with green chilli mojo

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Our evening food is served amongst guests on silver platters. Our bacon butties with bacon jam with home made chips have to be my favourite evening treat!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Knowsley Hall has an illustrious history since it first opened it's doors in 1495. Amongst the exquisite décor, you will find original features throughout the Hall from beautiful fireplaces and wood panelling to magnificent artwork. A huge gold chandelier occupies the State Dining Room.
