Our wedding venue and function room, Avalon, has played host to weddings since 2003. Avalon has a high pitched ceiling supported by an exposed French oak frame and the polished oak floor at the centre of the room is bordered by Welsh slate. The beautiful arched windows overlook the surrounding landscaped gardens which comprise of a bridge with lily pond & a picturesque flower meadow. 19 tastefully furnished en-suite bedrooms provide accommodation for over 45+ people so your guests can stay overnight and enjoy breakfast with the newlyweds the next day. It’s no surprise that couples come from far and wide to view our spectacular venue and fall in love with this special place. The King Arthur’s wedding team offers a wealth of experience and personal service to all couples. Our wedding manager was named Wedding Coordinator of the year at the Welsh wedding awards in 2019. We have a number of wedding coordinators to assist with the wedding preparations and to of course be on hand during the big day. We appreciate that each and every wedding is unique and we do not host more than one wedding a day.

We always knew why we’d picked the King Arthur bec
Oh Rhian, thank you so so much for the best day ever. You were absolutely incredible from start to finish and so were the amazing team around you. We always knew why we’d picked the King Arthur because we know how wonderful it is as a venue, however it is the people/ staff connected to it that actually make it the venue it is. I truly mean it when I say it feels wrong saying staff as you all go above and beyond to make it the place that it is. I think it is what makes it feel like there is a heart to it. All our friends and family were absolutely bowled over by our day and especially the venue. You had everything covered and thought of all those little extra touches - like the Yorkshire pudding canapés, I had noted it before we spoke about it. I was touched by that. I overheard our friends who have allergies talking about how they’ve never been to a place who went the extra mile to ensure they were catered for so perfectly and with it all being so yummy. Please let the chef and team know that. Also please pass on how delicious the food was, I think the clean plates said it all but our crab cakes were a huge hit, the beef was so tender and melt in the mouth, the dauphinoise was amazing and the pudding was divine. We honestly could not have imagined anything more! I could honestly continue but we would be here all day and we are having to pack for our mini moon! 🤣 One final thing I will say is that myself, my new husband (😝) and especially our families were so touched and grateful that you allowed us to use the top bar just to sit and soak in the events from the day. It was such a special moment and meant the world to us so please pass our personal thanks on to the owner who I believe you said stayed to serve us. He was so relaxed and happy with us all and we never felt like we needed to leave or were being rushed. Again it is what makes you an exceptional place and always somewhere my family hold dear as my sister was married there too. Oh and I remember you said there were some new staff with you on the day - please make sure to tell them I would not have any idea who they would be because the service was incredible! Right, as I said I’ll stop now but please know how genuine this message is. I will be forever grateful for you Rhian in helping to create the best day of my life. You certainly made our dream wedding a reality and
Wow where do we begin? We are so pleased we chose the King Arthur Hotel to get married in. It was our dream venue from the beginning and exceeded our expectations and more. I feel a bit emotional writing this (as I have been all weekend) but we cannot express how thankful and grateful we are to you and all the team who have been absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. You were always there to answer any questions we had and offered advice. Nothing was too much trouble for you, even through the challenging time of the pandemic. The evening before our wedding when we met to discuss our day, there was another wedding going on at the time but you made us feel like we were the only wedding that mattered. I was saying this to my bridesmaids. Thank you for that, it meant alot and thank you for being there on the day aswell Rhian and for making us feel at ease with everything. You have been amazing! The food was superb and had lots of compliments, the Avalon room was everything we dreamed of and more. It looked breath taking. The accommodation was fantastic. The whole team of staff at the King Arthur have been brilliant, so accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. We are just sad it's all over with now but we will call back and see you soon. We will most certainly leave a review and will never stop recommending the King Arthur to family and friends. Every single detail was pure perfection!
My partner and I fell in love with the King Arthur the moment we saw it. We eventually got married December 2021 (after postponing from December 2020 due to COVID) and absolutely everything was perfect! The KA made everything very easy when we needed to move the date, everything was explained, discounts etc were all carried over - this in itself was such a relief and helped eased our worries. We dealt with a number of wedding coordinators in the lead up to the wedding, and every one was so friendly, professional and helpful. It doesn't matter how many questions I had or how many times I needed things explained, there was always someone at the end of the phone/email. This made the planning process a dream, nothing was too much trouble, we had to add someone to our day list 4 days before the wedding and it was effortless and stress free. Our wedding coordinator on the day - Annelise was incredible. Again, nothing was too much trouble, or even if I was late with submitting information, there was never any pressure. Annelise helped us plan every detail of the day. We arrived the day before with our decorations, favours, arch etc and before we knew it, it was all set up, Annelise checked some information and took care of things we hadn't even thought about. Majority of our friends and family were able to stay the night before and the night of the wedding which helped with the atmosphere and breaking the ice. They all ate and drank in the King arthur the night before and were all very impressed by the service and quality of food. The day of the wedding-everything ran so smoothly. Annelise went between myself and Dan, going through the timings and expectations of the day. Dans nerves were significantly reduced by having Annelise reassure him what was expected of him for the ceremony. The venue was warm and welcoming, it was decorated beautifully with lights and Christmas decorations. Every member of staff at the KA was professional and friendly so we felt at ease and well looked after throughout the day. There were plenty of beautiful places to have our photos taken throughout the venue and very close by which was convenient (especially on a cold day). I cannot recommend the King Arthur enough, it was the perfect venue in every aspect!

I just want to write a review for the staff that are in charge of the wedding side of things. We have unfortunately decided to cancel our wedding that we booked at the King Arthur due to personal circumstances which has meant we no longer want a 'big-do'. The staff (in particular Rhian and Annelise) were amazing in terms of us booking the venue and answering all questions promptly, but more so in how they have handled us cancelling. It may be a business, but you wouldn't have though so with the way they handled things. Thank you for being so helpful and understanding! Read more

We held our sons wedding at this fantastic venue and could not have asked for anything better, from the first time we visited the wedding farye to the day of the wedding the King arthur and its staff, especially Laura the wedding coordinator where exceptional the venue, the layout, the rooms we stayed in where of the highest quantity, the day flowed faultlessly into the evening, the food for the wedding breakfast was outstanding and presented, and served in a very professional and friendly manner by the staff, nothing is to much bother for the staff they are a credit to the venue, not to forget the location of this wonderful venue on the gower peninsula. All I can say if you want that special day look no further! Once again thank you all for a wonderful day. Father of the groom.

Stress free wedding
Stunning venue with incredibly friendly staff that support you throughout the process. I met with my wedding coordinator on multiple occasions and discussed all the uncertainty with Covid and was updated regularly of any changes. I was allowed to visit the venue as much as I wanted which allowed me to see and plan my vision. The day itself was stunning. Everything was on time and Rhian checked up on us throughout the day making sure we had enough drinks and giving tips on the day. It was professionally done and all the guests could not compliment the service enough. The food was incredible with everyone talking about how delicious it was and how much food we had. The venue itself is gorgeous with the grounds and inside beautiful . It was a hassle free day and can not recommend the place enough. From start to finish it was 10/10.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

We certainly couldn't single one out, there have been too many to mention! Each wedding is totally unique, we love seeing all the new trends which come and go over the years.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

You will know when you have found the one, the venue that is, because you will feel completely at ease there and confident that they will deliver your dream wedding! If you can see your friends and families enjoying drinks in the gardens or dancing the night away, then that is the venue for you.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A video message from Craig David was pretty cool! It was shown to the Bride on our big projector screen at the end of the speeches. The groom knew how much she loved him so got in touch with him and he kindly sent over a personal message for her- to say it made her day was an understatement!

Magical, timeless, friendly, Romantic, Memorable

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Photos nestled under the willow tree at night are so magical! The fairy lights trailing in the willow creates the most magical photos.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We've had quite a few over the years. Joanna Page from Gavin and Stacey was a wedding guest a few years back - she was really lovely.

What’s your favourite canapé?

We love the arancini balls. Full of flavour, vegetarian so a good all-rounder and something a little different to the norm.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It has to be good old bacon rolls with lots of tomato sauce!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Probably the Flower meadow. So romantic and peaceful- it changes with the season and is perfect for your couple wedding shots after the daytime reception. a very unique feature.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The staff! We are renowned for our impeccable customer service and attention to detail. Week in week out we receive so many amazing reviews from our happy couples- such a rewarding part of our job!
