Exclusively yours, Houchins is a unique barn venue with stylish grade 2* listed farmhouse accommodation. Located just 1 hour from London in north Essex it has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Houchins caters for weddings and civil ceremonies from 25 - 150+ people, offering a choice of indoor grandeur, outdoor simplicity or a combination of the two.
Highlights include indoor or outdoor ceremony areas depending on the weather. There is also the choice of indoor or outdoor bar with both overlooking the glorious wedding garden. Best of all both of you can change in comfort - either in the house or outside in our newly refurbished Dairy.

Includes use of two dressing rooms (when you hire the house) or one if you don't, full exclusive use of the venue and its grounds, a beautiful wedding marquee to host outside ceremonies, an optional woodland wedding space, ceremony chairs, as many long or round tables and Chiavari chairs for wedding breakfast as needed, a fully stocked bar and bar staff, fairy lights illuminating the main bar ledges, illuminated 'Bar' sign, Lloyd Loom garden furniture (April - September) Evening food terrace, Terrace Bar, festoon lights around the wedding garden, a team of wedding coordinators to guide you through the whole wedding planning process including two formal planning meetings, your own dedicated Personal Wedding Manager to make your day run exactly to plan, Moposa - the use of our digital wedding planning tool which includes: a personal wedding website, a guest management system creating a guest list, online invites & receive RSVP's, a table seating tool, a budget planner, a to-do list organiser, a room layout tool and a library of inspiring images that you can personalise to create your own 'Lookbook'.

The communication with the team was exceptional from booking up until the day of the wedding. The team are so friendly and are very supportive on the day making sure everything ran smoothly. Rachel our wedding coordinator was a calm presence on the day and very attentive. We would definitely recommend houchins!We loved having our wedding at houchins. From the very start of our wedding journey right through to the big day, everyone we met was so lovely, helpful and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel so relaxed and enjoyable. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t have wished for a better place to celebrate. We had the most amazing day, and so did all of our guests. We couldn’t recommend this lovely venue and its team enough! We genuinely don’t think our wedding day could have been made any more special! From the very start of our wedding journey right through to the big day, everyone we met was so lovely, helpful and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel so relaxed and enjoyable. It was the perfect size, beautifully maintained garden and the outdoor area was perfect in the summer! It went absolutely seamlessly with no blips from start to finish. From the very first time we went to view the venue and decided it was the one, right through the entire year of planning, the team were so supportive, helpful and reassuring. As soon as we walked into the venue, when we were trying to find the one, we knew that's where we were going to get married. Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming at times, but we always felt like we had people around us who genuinely cared about making our day perfect. From meetings and organising the finer details to helping us bring our vision to life, they were always so helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help set everything up and make everything exactly how we had imagined it. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. Having everything all in one place made the whole day so easy, and everything was beautifully presented. The house where I got ready on the morning of the wedding was stunning and created such a lovely, calm atmosphere. The honeymoon suite was also beautiful, and we loved all the little touches, like the congratulations sign outside our room, the little bottle of champagne and the chocolates. Those details made us feel so special. On the wedding day itself, we genuinely didn’t have to think about a single thing. Everyone was incredibly professional, organised and supportive. Everything was taken care of, which meant we could completely relax and enjoy our day. I even felt completely calm in the moments before walking down the aisle, which I never expected! And being handed a glass of Pimms straight after the ceremony was definitely needed and very much appreciated! 😂 We have had so many comments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was, with so many people telling us it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to.
