Describe Gravetye Manor in 5 adjectives
Historic, Tranquil, Charming, Unique and Luxurious
Where’s the best photo spot at Gravetye Manor?
Gravetye's gardens are a photographers dream. We have many great photo opportunities but our favourite has to be on the steps of the original entrance now located in our Little Garden.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Gravetye Manor?
Maybe - but all shall not be revealed!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our Sussex Charmer Cheese Gougère is always a favourite!
What is Gravetye Manor most unique feature?
The Kitchen Garden here at Gravetye Manor is unlike anything you've ever seen before. Construction started on the walls in 1898, which took three years to build from local Sussex sand stone. These walled gardens were once the centre of every estate in the country, producing food for the whole community. This makes it very special that we can use the garden as it was originally. Many of our methods are exactly as they were 100 years ago, and preserving this heritage is an important part of what we do.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are most proud that our menus represent seasonality and that every single ingredient we use has either been grown in our Kitchen Garden, or sourced from a trusted, local supplier.
