At Glyngynwydd, I went from a worried and stressed bride's mother to an ecstatic, proud and happy one. If you are reading this and considering booking a wedding there, consider and hesitate no more - go ahead and book Glyngynwydd for its rustic charm to make your day your very own.
Many guests stayed on the site for the weekend, some in the cottages and others in bell tents which were put up ready for them. I dreaded the chore of decorating the barns on Friday evening but it turned out to be a fun social event, a chance for friends and family to meet up and get to know one another the night before the wedding. Everyone enjoyed a barbecue together around an open fire in the end. There was a relaxed atmosphere on Saturday morning also as everyone geared up for the main event.
My daughter's wedding was wonderful, enjoyed by one and all - young and old, able-bodied and disabled alike. It had a street food vibe with pizzas for early afternoon, fish & chips followed by dessert for the main reception and Venezuelan arepas for late-night revellers. Clearing up on Sunday morning wasn't a chore either because Carla, the owner, had found elves to do the hard work for us while we were all asleep. It was a wedding both memorable and magical which far exceeded all expectations.
Words are not enough to describe the great time we all had and the beautiful memories the bride and groom have of their special day. A visit to the site may give an insight but won't be a true reflection of the uniqueness and individuality of the venue which make Glyngynwydd weddings so remarkable. Can I really only award them 5 stars? They deserve five times five stars! Why was I such a worried and stressed bride's mother? Glyngynwydd is a stress buster – see and prove for yourselves!
I can't wait to re-live that wonderful day when we get the photos and I hope they show Glyngynwydd in all its glory. Thank you, Carla and family - for all you did in the run-up to the wedding, on the day and afterwards.
