We are nestled around a Medieval farmstead combining old world charm with contemporary style and comfort and built on strong environmental values. Licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, we strive to create a relaxed, bespoke and highly personal experience. You have exclusive use of the venue and we only host a handful of weddings each year so that we can make each one exceptional. We offer a choice of wonderfully romantic licensed spots to tie the knot including, for nature lovers, overlooking the beautiful Bridesmere lake. You and your guests can enjoy the lake, woodland and meadow trails around the nature reserve with abundant outside space for games or just quiet enjoyment on long summer evenings. You have the freedom to create the wedding of your dreams, with your choice of suppliers, and total flexibility in how you use the venue, but with the reassurance of knowing there is support and advice available if needed. Enjoy stylish, luxury on-site accommodation for up to 22 close family and friends, to extend the celebrations and make things easy for your loved ones. Additional on-site accommodation is offered in bell tents and a neighbouring campsite. After the excitement of the day retire to a secluded off grid love nest to spend your wedding night in fabulous comfort under the stars. We can't recommend Clifford Barton enough
We can't recommend Clifford Barton enough and are so grateful to have had our wedding there. We want to say a huge thank you to Vicky and Gavin for all their help in the lead up to and on the weekend of the wedding. The site is absolutely stunning with the breathtaking backdrop of the Teign Valley, charming cottages, beautiful barn and stunning ceremony site. This venue is perfect for anyone who is looking to get married where they have everything they could need in one place and the chance to make it their own entirely.

Wonderful Wedding
We had a wonderful weekend at Clifford Barton. The location,  in a tranquil Dartmoor valley with a lakeside canopied bridge along a country track within the grounds of the property where the ceremony was conducted and the beautiful barn for the reception was perfect.  The owners Gavin and Vicki were so accommodating ensuring that the bride and grooms wishes were carried out and it was lovely to have them around on the day to help out. The accommodation alongside the barn was beautifully appointed for all ages and a pleasure to stay in over the weekend. It was really useful to be so close at hand to help with the set up and made the weekend run  so much more smoothly.

Unique Venue
We loved how secluded the site felt and how welcome Vicky and Gavin made us feel when visiting in the run up to and on the weekend of the wedding. Every detail was thought about from stocking the best mans cottage with extra pint glasses for a pre-ceremony drink, to lighting fire pits when it got cold, to helping with transport and everything in between. The ceremony site was what first attracted us to the venue, the bridge overlooking the lake is so romantic and unique and we felt so lucky to be able to get married there. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the barn is gorgeous to host the wedding breakfast. Our guests all said it was one of the best wedding they'd be to and some are already booking to go back and stay in the cottages again. Definitely book if you want a unique venue in a stunning secluded area with lots of scope to personalise the day.
