City Halls & Old Fruitmarket

We had chosen the Old fruit market for our wedding ceremony and reception. As soon as we visited we knew it was the place for us. My husband loved the history and I loved how cosy and warm the place and the staff were. Neal and the team were on hand with any queries leading up to our big day and everyone had a brilliant time. There’s plenty of space for any suppliers that we wanted, the catering was amazing and even the range of evening buffet options were fantastic. We wanted to add extra options for our guests and nothing was a hassle. We had our ceremony in the bright recital room upstairs and our reception in the gorgeous Old Fruitmarket. We genuinely wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding day here.

Just want to say thanks again to you and all the staff for ensuring we had the best wedding party ever. The venue was stunning, the food was amazing and the staff were so helpful and on the ball. We couldn’t have done it without you from the planning stage to wrapping everything up. Thanks again

Now that things have calmed down after the wedding we would just like to say a huge thank you to your team for everything on Thursday. We had the best day and so did all of our guests (who just thought the Fruitmarket was a breathtaking venue!) The staff were amazing, the food was delicious (lots of compliments for this) and everyone at the venue just made everything so smooth and easy so thank you so so much!

The Old Fruitmarket was a brilliant venue for our wedding. The event manager Neal helped us massively throughout the planning and the team on the day provided a great service.

We chose to view City Halls & Old Fruitmarket mostly due to its size. We had a small destination wedding but required a venue for approx 350 guests in our home town for a celebration. Immediately we knew it was the venue for us. Neal was fantastic, easy to contact and made the event happen seamlessly. Kirsty and the team in the evening were also superb. 10/10 would recommend to anyone planning an event.

At the end of October we had our Wedding at the City Halls and Old Fruitmarket and we first wanted to mention just how amazing the entire venue and every single staff member was for the entire experience. The fun, friendly and attentive staff from moment one till the very last moment was an integral part of how enchanting the experience was. We had several members of our party with additional physical needs as well as family members who can easily suffer from sensory overload and can be easily overwhelmed. How the venue and the staff dealt with both these issues was again a matter for high praise, quiet areas were set aside and when one guest went to find a quiet area with her friend to sit a random member of staff stationed in that part of the building offered to get them drinks and checked in on them. Some of our guests both daytime and evening had mobility issues and without even needing to be asked all staff in the venue went out of their way to make those people feel comfortable and supported at all times. The support that was given to make last-minute changes and the level of support throughout the day was excellent. when the bride joked that they should have dressed in fancy dress and the staff responded by wearing fun, Halloween-themed headbands delighted us. When the groom asked for the evening buffet to be Tacos, the venue simply made it happen. We had a lovely experience trying the food, and many people complimented the food afterwards. We had several guests with dietary requirements including severe allergies and again these guests were catered to at an exceptional level, making them feel just as included as everyone else. The venue was beautiful, the staff were exceptional, and we couldn’t have been happier with how magical they helped make the day. We could and have praised the venue to everyone we speak to. Five stars!

We cannot thank you enough for all your help. Your team looked after us so well, even feeding me a roll when I was having my party nap 😂 We used the recital room for the ceremony and fruitmarket for the meal and reception. After only booking in May and a million changes the day was amazing and worth all the anxiety it produced. The team made things seamless for us and were even more relaxed when I kept looking my partner! 😂 It was such a great day thanks to you all!

We are so excited that we got married in the old Fruitmarket. Near enough all of our guests have text since we got married being amazed at the venue. We had 200 people attending and the place was perfect, the sound system was amazing and everyone in the room no matter where they sat could hear clearly all the speeches. Neal was amazing in his job of coordinating, a really pleasant gent to deal with and a real credit to the venue he put all our worries at ease. We can’t thank Neal enough for all his help and support on the night and in the run up to the big day. We really couldn’t have pulled it off without him! Kirsty the catering manager made sure we were looked after on the night too so massive thank you. Really appreciate how my glass was never less than half full before being re-filled so thanks for that! All the staff who man the door have been pleasant and very accommodating while we have been dropping materials in and out of the venue in the run up. Couldn’t recommend this venue enough, the staff all genuinely care about ensuring the guests have the best time & they certainly made our special day one that not only us but our guests will remember for the rest of our lives!! Marco and I had a great day and evening at The City Halls, everything has been prefect from the first contact with yourself and the meetings with yourself and Sarah. Greeting us when we arrived and ensuring that everything was perfect for us on the day. I mentioned so many times that I felt like a proper VIP, it definitely exceeding our expectations. The staff in the evening were also superb, nothing was too much much hassle for them. I don’t think saying thanks truly expresses our gratitude,
