Gorgeous view from a delightful and cosy pod!
Gorgeous view from a delightful and cosy pod! The pod was incredibly well laid out, a lot of thought clearly went in to maximising the space. It was also spotless. The outside area with the fire pit was lovely. We really enjoyed sitting out there as it became darker. The view of the sunset and countryside from the pod were fantastic. It was amazing waking up to that beautiful view.

Sir Archie and Lady Orr Ewing are tremendously good hosts: attentive, entertaining, generous and kind. They are happy to share their encyclopaedic knowledge of the area on everything from fishing to gardening, local history to the best walks. Guests have use of the classical but cozy library — curl up on an overstuffed chesterfield sofa in front of a huge log fire. There’s a pretty stone terrace where you can sit in the sun and a glorious garden to explore, not to mention those endless acres…

A stunning Scottish property
A stunning Scottish property as we imagine it, with antique furniture, ancestral paintings, silverware, books, flowers, sofas and dogs everywhere. The bedrooms and bathrooms are superb and huge, and dining with Sir Archibald and Lady Nicola by candlelight is an experience of the art of Scottish castle living (provided you speak some English, of course).

Sir Archie and Lady Nicola Orr-Ewing and their son Alastair were the perfect hosts along with their 4 very friendly and well-behaved dogs. Cardross House dates back to the 1500s in parts and is a step into a very different way of life to what most of us have today. It is everything that you would expect from a house and family who look after a considerable estate. We had dinner with the Orr-Ewings and Nicola is a highly accomplished cook. Archie is a most interesting gentleman to converse with a

Cardross Estate was a wonderful setting for a wedding and the venue is perfect. The team very helpful and accommodating and we had the most wonderful day. All of our guests were bowled over by the setting - both the house, the garden and the views. We had a fabulous wedding which was made more perfect by how relaxed Noreen and the team made us feel

Fairy tail wedding in the Pinetum Woods and Byre
We've had the most perfect week here. Thank you so so much for all your help from start to finish! Yes, the band were also fantastic! They did a full 4 hours, so there was plenty of dancing! I think everybody who came said at one point or another how beautiful the location was. We couldn't be happier with how it all went! Thanks again! We can't wait to come back again. Maybe try out those glamping pods next time (Adam) Thank you so much, it wouldn't have been possible without the help from yourself and the beautiful estate! It was a magical day 🥰 (Helen) Thank you so much, it wouldn't have been possible without the help from yourself and the beautiful estate! It was a magical day 🥰

Woodland Wedding at The Byre, Cardross Estate
We chose Cardross Estate for our wedding and we are both so glad we did! From the minute we first visited to look round, the team were so down to earth and really friendly and helpful. They really went out if their way to make sure it was all perfect for us from booking to leaving after our wedding. We were shown all around the gardens of the main house which was great as it gave us ideas for photo opportunities. We decided to go for the Byre as this suited our smaller numbers, but larger weddings can be accommodated too. We rented out the three cottages (Arnvicar, Hawthorn and Ash) so that we had full access to the grounds around the Byre, and other family members booked more accommodation on the estate too which is close by. We used a marquee company for our evening party and we had our ceremony on the lawn, looking out onto the beautiful scenery. The cottages and grounds were just what we wanted. Lovely and homely and everything we needed inside. Very clean and comfortable. We used the Byre for a big family meal the night before our wedding and we had our evening buffet on the day of the wedding in there too. (It's great because it has a lovely wood burner in it and lots of space to mingle.) After our ceremony we went up to the main house and gardens for some couple photographs- I loved the tree avenue. It was gorgeous. If you are looking for a chilled out wedding and to be able to have things the way you want them, as formal or informal as you like, using the suppliers you want to use, friendly and helpful team to get you set up and organised, plus beautiful scenery and grounds, then Cardross is the place for you. We had the best weekend there, and I can't recommend Cardross Estate highly enough. So glad we chose Cardross! Emma & Michael
