I have always loved Weddings. My first taste in event planning was when I was working in the theatre industry, where I became fascinated by the stage management and set design. To me, a wedding is just like putting on a show and setting the stage for everyone to come together and share a magical day. "Dear Ellen, We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to you and the team for your support and the effort which was put into our wedding celebration yesterday. The whole team made so much effort to make our day special and memorable and the execution was flawless. Everybody was complimentary about the food; the quality was really perfect. There were guests who have been all around the world that commented that the Beef Wellington was the best they had ever tasted. Our vegans and vegetarians were also impressed by the menu options and food quality. Rebecca did such a wonderful job of keeping everyone in order (even me!), we really appreciate everything she did for us throughout the day. Once again, our sincere thanks and appreciation to you all. We had a wonderful day, we will probably sleep for a week now!"

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
My favourite wedding was held in November - the whole room, setup, décor and most importantly the atmosphere was amazing. The couple were so lovely, and I really enjoyed being a part of the build up to their big day and helping them plan the perfect wedding. They had a very rustic approach with a local live band and a few fun games along the way for their guests, one being the wheel of misfortune! The wedding was all about having fun and that they certainly did.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Actually I have 5!
1. Stay calm.
2. Find your suppliers early. The good ones book up quick!
3. Spend time doing your research to find what you really want – put together a Pinterest board I promise it will help more than you think.
4. Surround yourself with loving and helpful people to assist you.
5. Enjoy the process – the day comes around so quickly so enjoy every second of it!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Each guest received a handwritten note with a memory and photo tied to slate hearts - just gorgeous!

Elegant, picturesque, friendly, scenic, remote.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many beautiful locations around Bowood whatever the time of year. I love the bridge down by Queenwood. The large pond there is stunning for photos, especially with the cottage in the background.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
No weddings just yet, but several have held social events or visited for an afternoon tea!
What’s your favourite canapé?
I think it has to be the Smoked Salmon & Crème Fraîche Blinis- delicious!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We say why wait until midnight? Our evening wedding celebration catering options are pretty tasty. In between some serious dancing and another Prosecco, you can enjoy fresh, made to order pizzas, nachos, mini fish & chips, assorted sandwiches & fries, sliders & assorted wraps or a traditional finger buffet..... you name it and our chef can make it!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
My personal favourite is our private terrace, with the picturesque views of parkland and our resident wildlife!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our amazing team who work so hard to deliver the wedding of your dreams!
