Perfect for a woodland or festival themed wedding or event, Bower in the Wood allows you the freedom to design your special event exactly to your wishes, all whilst surrounded by the beauty and simplicity of nature.
Choose from two very different licensed locations for your ceremony. A short woodland stroll takes you to our beautiful wooden Bower, or the Great Hall with its domed wooden ceiling can be the setting for your ceremony.
There are numerous beautiful spots to choose from for celebrant led ceremonies. Alternatively, If you are planning a church wedding, the venue can be hired purely for your reception party.The Grand Hall can seat up to120 for your wedding feast, or alternatively you can make use of the relaxed and more informal woodland seating.
Three unique bespoke, handmade woodland tables wrap around the up-lit trees, seating up to 80 guests, and add a relaxed informal vibe to your day. Decorated tables can be added to the outside area if you have more guests.

We’re Lottie and Frankie — a mother-and-daughter team with a shared love of beautiful celebrations, meaningful moments, and the magic of the outdoors. Bower in the Wood is our family-run wedding venue, and it means the world to us to be able to share it with you.

With the right styling and personal touches, it can look beautiful, and the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience with the communication and wedding coordination was disappointing. In the lead-up to the wedding, responses were often slow and we regularly had to chase for answers and updates. We were repeatedly reassured that everything was under control and that the team had everything covered. We had also provided clear instructions and a detailed booklet outlining exactly what needed to be done and where things needed to go. As we weren't given the opportunity to check everything ourselves beforehand, we had to trust that those instructions had been followed. Unfortunately, some important details were missed on the day. Items we had specifically provided for the wedding were not put out as instructed, and some things went missing. It was particularly upsetting because these were personal details we had spent time and money organising, and we had trusted the venue to take care of them based on the assurances we had been given. We completely understand that no wedding will ever run perfectly and that things can go wrong. However, when you are told everything is under control and aren't given the opportunity to check things yourself, you naturally expect those details to be taken care of. Our advice to future couples would be to have someone you completely trust involved in checking the details on the day, and to be very clear with the venue beforehand about exactly what will be set up and who is responsible for each item. Despite the issues, we had a beautiful wedding and will always look back on the day fondly. The venue is stunning and the staff themselves were lovely. We simply feel that the communication and coordination fell short of what we expected, and future couples should be aware of this when making their plans. Nothing was ever to big of an ask and they made the whole planning as stress free as possible. Communication is fantastic and Lottie is always on hand should you need to discuss anything.
