We enjoy a unique affinity with weddings at the Bournemouth Carlton. We really do. It stretches back 70 years. After WW2 the hotel housed GI brides: the women waiting to rejoin the American servicemen they’d met and married while the soldiers were stationed in the UK. In 1946, 213 of these wives and 224 children left the Carlton for Southampton and a Queen Mary crossing to a new life in the States. We offer 4 spectacularly refurbished event rooms with fabulously elegant décor, capable of hosting everything up to 200 guests. All of our function rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies, giving you the choice to hold your marriage with us, as well as your reception. Our relaxed yet highly professional team of experienced wedding coordinators will lead you through the whole planning process for your big day, from florists to photographers to catering. Helping you with the finer details for the perfect wedding. We offer 76 bedrooms to cater for a variety of guests, from double rooms for couples to self-catering apartments ideal for families. We even offer a sea-view room especially for the newly married couple. Our wedding at the Carlton Hotel, Bournemouth was without a doubt the best day of our lives. It was absolutely perfect and run smoothly. We had absolutely no hiccups, no near misses and no regrets for booking the Carlton Hotel as our wedding venue. It was organised but nothing was planned as such so we just watched as the day unravelled. It was beyond our expectations with amazingly friendly and helpful staff all around. Outstanding!

The Carlton Hotel were like our fairy Godmother of a venue - outstanding. We initially booked for April 2020- due to government restrictions we legally had to postpone our wedding twice. The great team at the Carlton supported us throughout- and really wanted us to have the best day of our lives. The communication in the ever changing circumstances was flawless, there was no question or request too big or two small. We got married in July while there were very new COVID restrictions in place. They ensured smooth set up. On the day the team provided brilliant service, care and attention- but while making sure we had fun. The Gardens worked brilliantly for canapes, photos and garden games. In the evening we did take the short potter down to the beach. Guests commented on how much they enjoyed the day, with the food getting a lot of positive mentions.
