Blackwell Grange Hotel

Leading up to the wedding Deborah the Wedding Manager was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always friendly, approachable, happy to answer our questions and easy to get hold of. Communication was incredibly good! On the day of the wedding Richard our Wedding Co-Ordinator was very friendly and helpful and kept us in the loop with how the day was progressing which we appreciated. The 3 course meal served at the Wedding Breakfast went down very well with all of our guests as did the lovely evening buffet! Breakfast in the main restaurant was also delicious! Lots on offer so everyone was happy. As for the day as whole, Blackwell were fantastic. Not only did the venue look beautiful but everything ran so smoothly with all of our suppliers being supported in fulfilling their role. It was a stress free day for the both of us! We only have two criticisms... One is the breakfast offering if you are eating in your room. On the morning of the wedding I (the bride) ordered breakfast from quite a limited menu (I went with a bacon sandwich, yogurt and glass of juice) which arrived on time, but unfortunately it was probably the worst breakfast I've ever had... It was cold, dry and the bacon sandwich hadn't even been cut in half. I had to try and do that myself. The tray was also not collected so I had to keep it in the bath until room service came whilst the ceremony was in progress 7 hours later... The second thing is attention to detail in the Bridal suite. The room itself is stunning and an amazing size, but plug sockets are an absolute nightmare to get to which was very impractical when getting ready (bar one they were all tucked behind furniture or away from mirrors). We had to ask for an extension lead from reception so the hairstylist could use all of her tools. We were also only given one chair for 3 people to have both hair and make-up. Again we had to contact reception and ask for another chair. It would also have been a nice touch to have some kind of small token gesture from the hotel in recognition that this was a wedding booking, perhaps some champagne flutes for photographs? A small bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates? Just something to add that final touch. Overall though Blackwell were amazing. Our guests loved the wedding and described it as relaxed, classy and enjoyable. Thank you to the whole team for helping us celebrate our special day.

From when we had our first meeting with Deborah, we knew Blackwell Grange was the place for us. Such a beautiful venue inside and out. Deborah was kind, caring, patient and would do anything to make our day perfect. She kept in touch with us from the first meeting , sending emails backwards and forwards every time we had a question or suggestion, we had regular meetings with Deborah where she made sure she had every little detail to make the day exactly how we wanted. She was there on our day as well watching me walk down the aisle and after the day we had another email from her asking if everything went perfect and did we need anything else. We had our wedding ceremony and reception in the Bruhenny suite which was perfect. A lovely bright clean room with gorgeous fireplace and plenty of space for tables and the dance floor. We booked two rooms for the Grooms party and Bridal Party to get ready in, these were a good size and we were allowed these rooms right up until the ceremony. The hotel staff kindly move all our luggage to relevant rooms afterwards. Our Wedding Coordinator on the day was a lovely lady called Margaret who ensured everything ran smoothly and we had everything we needed. We stayed in the bridal suite for the night of our wedding and it was lovely, a bright clean room with lovely windows and decor including beautiful lights and fireplace and gorgeous bathroom. All the staff at Blackwell Grange were fantastic, very helpful, quick, efficient and went above and beyond to make our day perfect.

We contacted Blackwell Grange when our original venue closed down and after having a look round the venue we were blown away. We opted for the Bruhenny suite after falling in love with the fireplace, alongside this we opted for the blackwell bar for the reception drinks and room turn around so we had access to the gardens. Deborah is so lovely and was on hand to answer any questions and requests we had up to our wedding day. On the day we had Margaret as our wedding coordinator and she was amazing, she kept us on track making the day run so smoothly and helping the men with their buttonholes. Everything was set up better then we could have imagined and the food was delicious. We can never thank Deborah, Margaret and all the staff enough for all their hard work making it the most incredible and memorable day! Blackwell Grange really was an amazing place for us to get married. Nothing was too much trouble & everything was perfect from start to finish. The morning of the wedding we decided to get married outside as the weather was beautiful & before we knew it everything was changed round & ready for us, it was like it was planned like that from the beginning. We were worried things wouldn’t be how we imagined/pictured but it was better it really was. All the staff & everyone we dealt with at Blackwell were 10/10 & really understood the importance of it being a perfect day. Can’t thank you all enough for giving us a dream day in a lovely venue!
